Welcome new business sponsor Destiny Adoption to the Mustang Family!! This Week in Mustang Athletics Basketball The Boys Varsity Basketball team played Shorecrest really tough through the first three quarters but ran out of gas in the fourth. Derrick Wright led the team in scoring with 15 points and Tyler Madasz made three 3 pointers in the game. The MS Boys Basketball team won an exciting game at Keswick Christian by a score of 35 to 32. Down by 5 points with less than two minutes left, Skyler Scull hit a 3-pointer from the left corner. Then our team turned up the defense and forced a turnover with less than 30 seconds left. Alec Johnson hit another 3-pointer from the left wing to give us a one-point lead. After Cole Rogers made a steal, Skyler Scull made two clutch free throws to finalize the scoring. Alec Johnson had a game high of 12 points. Skyler Scull added 8 points. Joel Bolds had 4 points. Elijah Baptist and Austin Littrell added 3 points each. Logan Brown and Shane McClanhan each contributed two points. A special recognition for their defense effort to Sam Lameyer, Braden Otto, Andrew Cockman and Blake Jagger. Girl's Middle School Basketball lost their last two games against Keswick and Indian Rocks. Emilia Harding lead the team in scoring for both games with a combine 16 points, while Genesis Hernandez and Landis Wilson contributed 4 points each. Soccer The boys soccer teams played a skilled Largo team very tough only to lose 0-1. The boys played physical, solid defense and made Largo work for their one goal. The boys pushed forward for the equalizer toward the end of the game and have some great chances to tie. This was their best game to date. Our record is 1-9-1. Thank you to the following senior boys for and amazing year: Brandon Thomas, Jeremy Story, and Taylor Clements. Wrestling Hey Mustang fans, your wrestling team had another great tournament. 4 wrestlers reached the podium at the St. Petersburg City Championships; Jacob Jagger placed 4th, Matt Blevins placed 3rd, Nick Carbone placed 2nd and Kamen Wilmington was your Champion. It looks like they are learning how to become Podium Punks. Great job guys.
