NCS is proud to present "A Holiday Salute to Hometown Heroes", a musical set in a small town radio station in 1941 just before the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. The music will be a mix of Christmas and patriotic songs and will mostly reflect the jazz styles of the period.

  •  The whole school is involved
  • From preschool* up to 12th grade, every student in a music class will have a part to play during the musical (*preschool will appear via a very special video)
  •  We will be performing at the Mahaffey Theater
  • A beautiful hall in downtown St Petersburg that seats 2000
  •  We will involve local veterans dating back to World War II in a very special tribute.
  • All military personnel in attendance will have their pictures shown on the main screen, their name printed in the program and read aloud during a roll call of honor ceremony.
  • To present this portion of the program we have very special guests including Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Gary Littrell and State Senator Jeff Brandes.

The venue and the community involvement give this show the potential to be one of the highest profile events the school has ever produced. We are excited to perform in such a beautiful hall and to see our students honor our Hometown Heroes.
