NCS Spiritual Emphasis Week
September 14-17, 2015

If you combined C.S. Lewis and MTV, you'd get Axis.

Axis creatively teaches a post-literate generation via the medium of current popular culture. In the midst of today's often confusing marketplace of ideas, they interview different worldviews and narratives by peering through the lens of media and asking the question "Does the Gospel of Jesus stand firm when compared to other counterfeit gospels presented in the world?"

While the team is here, they will engage the students through three sessions:

Social Media Love Affair: An exploration of the effects of technology on our faith and relationships.

How to Read the Bible Like The Devil: If you don't understand what Scripture actually says, you can't properly understand God. A look at how people read the Bible out of context, which can keep us from a holistic relationship with God.

We Are What We Love:
An exploration of some of the most influential current popular culture your students are consuming.

Parent Meeting:

The AXIS team will be leading a presentation for parents called:

Relevant Parenting: What Students Think About and Tools for Effective Family Discipleship.

Equipping parents with the information and tools they need to understand their students and educate them to think wisely about the ideas that are influencing them.

Please join us!
This free presentation will take place on Tuesday, September 15th, 7 pm at Northside Baptist Church.

All NCS students who have a parent represented at the meeting will receive a dress down day.
