Men's Bible Study
What if you discovered that every moment of your life was part of a meticulous and purposeful design in which all the elements intertwined with breathtaking precision instead of the massive train wreck you often think it is? How would knowing and truly living in light of the truth that every mundane task, every happy moment, and every tragic event is part of God's master plan change how you live your life? There is a group of men who meet every Thursday morning at 7:15am that have the same desire to seek this truth about ourselves and God. We meet in the AfterCare portable behind the NCS Gym and we end promptly at 8:15am. Why should you come check it out? It's quite simple really. YOU MATTER. Everything about your life matters. And because your life matters, it is not meant to be lived in isolation. We are truly better together.

Ladies Prayer Group
NCS Mom Mary Awad leads a group of ladies every Wednesday morning at 8am in the MS/HS Library who pray for NCS Families and Faculty. If you would like to join the prayer group, please come Wednesday mornings at 8am. If you can't attend but you have a prayer need, please email Tessa.Madasz@nck12.com who will share this information with Mrs. Awad.  ALL PRAYER REQUESTS ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL!

National Back to Church Sunday
Northside Baptist Church would like to extend an invitation to all of our school families who are not affiliated with another church to join us on two special occasions in the month of September.

On September 20, we are celebrating National Back to Church Sunday, and we invite you and your family to simply take the morning to come back to church. Often our lives get so busy, we can overlook the importance of just stopping and taking time to reflect on what's truly important. God loves you and desires a relationship with you. Spending time in His house is one way to build that relationship. So, please consider this a personal invitation to join us on this celebratory morning as we take time out of all of our busy schedules to slow down and focus on Him! Hebrews 10:24-25

The following Sunday on September 27, Northside Baptist Church hosts NCS Sunday, a worship service led by the staff and students of Northside Christian School. We invite you again to join us in worshiping God together, as we join hands with our awesome school, and give God all the glory because He is worthy of our praise. On any Sunday, we offer a 9AM traditional service and a 10:30AM contemporary service - while music styles/preferences may differ, we seek to worship and honor God in all!  Ephesians 5:19-20

This Week in Mustang Athletics

Football
Mayo, FL -The Northside Christian Varsity Football team continued on the right path this past Friday night with a convincing 40- 12 victory over Lafayette High School. Since last week's game was just a pre-season kick-off classic game, the Mustangs now stand at 1-0 on the season. While the offense put the majority of the points on the board, the defense proved to be the difference maker fueled by six forced turnovers. Junior Tah'Shim Knight forced 3 fumbles and Junior DJ Jackson had two interceptions - including one that was returned for a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, Junior Quarterback Griffin Alstott went  8 - 13  for 117 yards and two TDs, completing three of them to Junior Derrick Wright for 48 yards and one of the touchdowns. Alstott also added 33 yards rushing on three attempts. The running backs combined for 188 yards on the ground, led by Sophomore Marcus Hooks with 58.The Mustangs get to stay a little closer to home this week as they travel to 3A Calvary Christian School in Clearwater.  Kick-off is set for 7:30 pm.

The middle school team played their first game this week AWAY against Shorecrest, coming away with a 30-14 win. The game started off with a defensive stand near our own goal line, with Tre Gilliam forcing a fumble that Logan Brown recovered for a touch back to the 20. Our offense then took over and we got into a rhythm, with Joel Bolds carrying the ball for the offense and Cole Rogers (6th grade) starting at full back. Tre Gilliam broke a bootleg play around the left end and went 72 yards for the mustangs 1st touchdown of the season. Then on defense, Shorecrest was driving the ball and had gotten all the way down near the goal line, when Tre Gilliam stepped in front of a pass and intercepted the ball at the 6 yard line. He then ran it 94 yards for his 2nd touchdown of the game. Joel Bolds deserves another mention as he had a 63 yard touchdown run which was call back due to a penalty, great run though! Next, on offense Tre connected with Logan Brown on a beautiful post route for a 65 yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter to put the team up 24-0. The mustangs last score came on another bootleg run by Tre Gilliam who went 46 yards for his 3rd touchdown of the game. Great block on that play by Matthew Stofer! Overall the offense had only 1 false start penalty and NO turnovers. They played a smart game of football! Shout out to Hayden Zepp and Preston Cushman who as 6th graders started on the strong side of the offensive line at Guard and Tackle!

The mustang defense was also very good. They forced and recovered 3 fumbles and snagged the interception for the "pick 6" - what a great first game for the defense with 4 turnovers! Leading tacklers were Austin Littrell, Tre Gilliam and Louis Maresca with some great plays made by Alec Johnson, Joel Bolds, Logan Brown and Blake Jagger. 5th Quarter offense was run by AJ Jackson. The boys played really well and moved the ball effectively. Matthew Stofer scored on a run for the team during 5th quarter. The defense was led by Matthew Borrelli who made a number of nice tackles.

Swimming
The swim team started out the season with a very successful opener against powerhouse Tampa Prep. Although not first in team scoring, many swimmers stepped up and swam personal bests. There were lots of big time drops from returning swimmers. The middle schoolers stepped up and swam relays, and several swam varsity distances. We are very excited about the upcoming season and future of this team. Our next meet is Thursday against St. Pete Catholic at Bardmoor at 5 pm. Come out and support us !
