Parking Lot Update
You may have noticed that there has not been a lot of work done on the parking lot this week.  We have been waiting on a Company named Dallas1 who has graciously donated a crew to come on our campus starting Monday, August 31st to clear and construct the foundation of the new elementary drop off and elementary parking lot (Phase 1). We apologize for the delay, but this donation of labor and materials is saving our total budget thousands of dollars. Dallas1's mission is to Serve Christ Through Construction. Their mission is posted clearly on the home page of their website www.d1cd.com. We also have Duke Energy scheduled to come on campus the week of September 14th to relocate light poles and add lighting. Thank you for your patience, and weather permitting you should see some real progress over the next two weeks.

In the meantime, we are asking elementary families to pick up their children between 2:45pm and 3:00pm and we are asking parents of middle and high school students not to arrive for afternoon pick up until 3:15pm. The drop off/pick up lane closest to the building should never be used by middle and high school families before 3:15pm. It is reserved for preschool and elementary families ONLY until the new preschool/elementary drop off area is completed. We want to avoid our younger students crossing a lane of traffic at any time. We realize that the traffic congestion may cause some middle and high school students to arrive in homeroom a few minutes late. At this time we are showing grace to those students and not issuing demerits. We are offering the same courtesy to those families running a few minutes late in the afternoon. We are not charging aftercare fees to those families who are a few minutes late picking up their child due to parking lot traffic congestion.
NetClassroom Update

We will need to take NetClassroom offline next week in order to update medical information. We will also be importing the remainder of data left in School Dynamics so we can start running comprehensive transcripts for our seniors who are applying to colleges and universities. What this means for parents is they can access NetClassroom but there will be no updates from teachers in regards to grades or assignments the week of August 31. Middle and High School teachers have been instructed to input next week's assignments no later than Thursday afternoon or print out and hand students a list of assignments for next week in class no later than Monday.

Auction Meeting

Northside's Annual Silent/Live Auction is scheduled fro Thursday, November 12th.  If you would like to help plan the auction, please come to our first planning meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd in Room 110 (located in the high school hallway).  All preschool through 12th grade parents or grandparents are invited. If you have questions about the auction, please contact Tessa Madasz at tessa.madasz@nck12.com

Fine Arts Planning Meeting

There will be a Fine Arts Planning Meeting immediately following Monday Night's 7th through 12th Grade Open House to discuss deposits needed for the Hawaii Trip and details regarding the December 7th Musical at Mahaffey Theater. All parents of students in Marching Band and High School Choir are asked to attend. Parents of 8th grade choir students interested in learning more about next year's Hawaii Trip are also invited to attend.

7th-12th Grade Open House

Since we have close to 100 new families who have never experienced a 7th through 12th grade Open House we thought you may want to know what to expect. Monday, August 31, all parents of 7th-12th grade students are asked to meet in the gym. Parents will be handed their child's schedule. After a brief word from some key individuals, parents will be dismissed to walk through their child's schedule on a bell system. The first stop will be your child's homeroom. After 10 minutes, the bell will ring and you will head to your child's 1st period class. Don't worry, Student Council members will be on hand to direct lost parents. For your convenience, all gym and Bible classes will meet in the cafeteria to cut down on your travel time. If your child has a study hall, you will report to the library that period for some refreshments. It should be a fun night to meet your child's teachers and other Northside parents,
