Dear NCS Family,
Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!
Those in the office always know we're just a few weeks away from school beginning by the ringing of the office telephone. Toward the end of July it seems the ringing is non-stop which causes us to temporarily "panic" realizing there are still many things we want to see accomplished before the students return. Each division has been busy with preparations to welcome back students on their first day of school. With more than 100 new students, we are eager to greet everyone and hear about their summers.
An update of the many campus improvements will be shared with the school family in the next few weeks. The most noticeable change is the clearing of trees to make way for paved parking areas which also include: new runoff drainage piping, new lighting, an entirely asphalted surface, an increase in parking spaces, a new elementary drop off/pick-up area on the east side of the campus, new trees and shrubs, and new designed entrances. This project solves significant property drainage issues and is a necessity prior to any major additional facility being built on the property. (Please see the included parking diagram below for instructions on how to pick up and drop off the first month or so of school.)
The school family will be invited to attend a "Parking Lot Party" after school begins to meet the people helping with the project, see the plans, learn about volunteer opportunities, and hear about the final funding components. Thank you in advance for being patient in navigating the various on campus traffic routes to accommodate the parking construction phases.
Band, Cheerleading, and Football Camps have all been completed and teachers return to school beginning Wednesday, August 11th. Please note the following important announcements to help facilitate a smooth start for the school year:

SCHOOL YEAR THEME
"We are Northside...trusted, tried and true" A supporting bible passage is Joshua 24:15 where Joshua makes a commitment on behalf of his family to follow the Lord regardless of what those around him were doing. This summer we have spent time developing a school Honor Code that reinforces Northside's commitment to the importance of standing for truth according to the Bible. This document can be found on the school's website which outlines the high importance of always doing the right thing.
As the faculty and staff return this week, please know that you are being prayed for. We count it a privilege to serve and partner with you as we call upon our Heavenly Father to protect and bless the school and its families in unexpected ways for a new school year.
Serving Christ,
Donald C. James, Ed.D.
Head of School
The elementary entrance is unusable at the moment. ALL TRAFFIC must enter through the middle gate, drop off in front of the gym and middle/high school building, and then exit out the far gate closest to Park Street. Preschool and Elementary teachers will be stationed all along the front walkway to receive your children. If you wish to park and walk your children to class, the first couple of rows of the main parking lot will be reserved for parents.
