Voter Registration Information Wisconsin Act 182 of 2013, was passed as Senate Bill 267, and became effective on April 4, 2014. The Act requires that voters provide documentation establishing proof of residence (POR) as part of the voter registration application. The requirement applies to all electors who are not military or permanent overseas electors. An older version of the registration form does not list this requirement. This information must be included with the new registration form in order to be processed. If you are new to Shorewood or have recently moved to a new location within Shorewood, you may wish to take a few moments to register to vote in the upcoming August Primary and November General Elections. You can register at Village Hall, 3930 N Murray Avenue, Shorewood, Wis., between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, now through August 8 or you may register at your polling location on Primary Election Day. August is Pet Amnesty Month!
Are you harboring a fugitive? Make your pet legal. Licensing your pet is easy! Just bring your rabies information to Village Hall and we will be happy to provide a license for your pet. During the month of August you will not be required to pay the late fee for your license.
Licensing is one important part of responsible pet ownership.
A pet found wearing a current license tag is put on the FAST TRACK HOME! If your pet is licensed, your contact information and rabies information is already in our system and provides us with the information needed to return your pet.
Pets that are found wearing a current license tag are also eligible for an annual "Free Ride Home" by Milwaukee Area Domestic Control Commission (MADACC) Animal Control Officers! This saves your animal the stress of coming into the facility and you the expenses associated with reclaiming your animal. Current contact information is important! Come to Village Hall today, 3930 N Murray Ave., to obtain your pet license.

Health Tip
Plan for relaxation.
Most of us are busy during the week and even our weekends seem to become non-stop errands, chores, work and travel. So how do you find time to relax? Take a part of your weekend to schedule some downtime for at least an hour or two. Whether it's practicing your favorite hobby, seeing a movie with friends or even meditating quietly, do something every weekend that recharges you. You'll not only feel better, but also beat the kind of stress that can sometimes lead to weight gain.
|
Environmental Tip
Don't let pet waste run off! You can help reduce polluted storm water runoff by just picking up your pet's poop and disposing of it properly. Leaving pet waste on the ground increases public health risks by allowing harmful bacteria or organic material to wash into the storm drain and eventually into local waterbodies. So remember - always scoop the poop!
