Exporting Logistics & Transportation Workshop
The San Diego CITD and San Diego District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration are hosting a workshop on the logistics and transportation aspects of exporting on August 18th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.


This workshop will provide new to export companies and existing exporters with valuable information on how to get their products to global customers in an efficient manner, reduce costs, and increase their bottom line.


Topics covered in the workshop include:
  • Cross-border process flow of goods transportation to/from Mexico
  • What is third-party logistics and how it can benefit your company
  • How-to guide for international shipping
  • Benefits of the Foreign-Trade Zones Program
Presenters include representatives from Grupo Logistics, WorldTrans Services, Inc., UPS, and the City of San Diego.

Trans-Pacific Partnership Country Webinars
The International Trade Administration is hosting a series of webinars to help inform U.S. businesses about commercial opportunities in leading and emerging markets in the Pacific Rim.


Each webinar will focus on the benefits of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement for American workers and businesses in one or more of the 11 other TPP countries. These sessions will help U.S. businesses of all sizes better understand how TPP will increase their competitiveness and the growing commercial opportunities for Made-in-America products in some of the largest and most dynamic countries in the Asia Pacific region.

California Pavilion at Hong Kong Food Expo
The Northern California-Sacramento Regional Center for International Trade Development and the California State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) program encourages you to take the next global step and register for the Hong Kong Food Expo, the gateway to the Asia Market!

Connect Your Business to Global Markets Workshop
Ready to expand your business into foreign markets?


The San Diego CITD, in conjunction with the SBDC San Diego & Imperial Valley Network and the National City Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a workshop geared toward existing businesses that are interested in selling their products and services globally. The workshop will cover a variety of topics, including:
  • Process for exporting goods and services
  • How to conduct international market research
  • Finding foreign buyers
  • Overview of export financing
  • Review of export documentation and logistics
  • Understanding export regulations
  • Online international trade resources
  • Connecting with buyers and sellers worldwide

The Green Expo - Mexico City
The Green Expo in Mexico City is a multinational business forum, hosting national and international companies who offer innovative solutions and cutting edge technology for a sustainable green economy. The expo attracts over 11,000 attendees from over 30 countries, including 200 plus exhibitors.



The Sacramento CITD and San Diego CITD are collaborating to provide 4-6 SMEs with the opportunity to share booth space inside the California Pavilion at the Green Expo, taking advantage of the branding power of the State of California to attract attendees and buyers.



Through a grant funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the CITDs can provide State Trade and Export Promotion Program (STEP) funds for businesses to participate in this export promotion event.

Manufacturing Day is an event that celebrates modern manufacturing and meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. San Diego Manufacturing Day will take place on October 7th, 2016. The San Diego CITD, in collaboration with the Center for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT) at San Diego City College, will be hosting a tour of manufacturing facilities in Tijuana, Mexico as part of the many manufacturing-related activities leading up to Manufacturing Day.

Join the San Diego CITD at BajaMak 2016 on October 20th in Tijuana, Mexico.


The trade show and expo emphasizes the maquiladora supply industry in the Baja California border region and will feature five specialized industries exhibiting their current needs for their manufacturing plants in Mexico. These industries include: Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Products, Metal/Mechanical, and Electronics.


BajaMak has become an important venue in Northwest Mexico for companies looking to tap into the $11 billion suppliers market within the region's manufacturing industry. This year's event is expected to feature over 250 exhibitors (suppliers and buyers) and draw more than 2,500 attendees.

Part of the California Community Colleges "Doing What Matters for Jobs and the Econony" initiative, the DSN for Global Trade & Logistics is focused on aligning curriculum and training programs in International Business and Logistics, across the community colleges in the San Diego & Imperial Counties region, to meet industry needs and help students develop successful career paths in high-growth, high-wage industries.
