Multi-Sector Trade Mission to Mexico
Join the Center for International Trade Development in Sacramento and the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in Sacramento, Alameda County, and San Jose on a trade mission to Mexico.
Mexico is currently the state's largest export market, with $26.3 billion in exports in 2012 and selling over 16 percent of the state's total exports to Mexico. Over 75,000 California companies exported to Mexico in 2011. Of these, 96% were small- and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 500 employees.
This two-fold mission is designed to build trade relationships and to enhance the ability of California's small- and medium-sized businesses to prosper in Mexico. Opportunities during the trade mission include:
- Site visits with potential buyers looking for California suppliers
- Business networking events
- On-site interpreters to assist with matchmaking meetings

Webinar on Business Opportunities in Baja California, Mexico

Baja California is a center of innovation and dynamism along the U.S.- Mexico border. Tijuana, Baja California's largest metropolis, is on track to double its population to four million by 2030. With improvements in the security situation and realizing the benefits of nearshoring, companies are once again setting up shop in Baja California rather than turning to Asia. Tijuana and San Diego are a model of cross-border collaboration, particularly in promoting the area as an economically integrated mega-region and in addressing border infrastructure projects.
Join Consul General Andrew Erickson for a webchat to review the current business and investment climate in Baja California. Enrique Esparza, President of the Tijuana Economic Development Corporation (DEITAC), and Rick De Lambert, Commercial Officer with the U.S. Commercial Service in San Diego will join Consul General Erickson to discuss opportunities, especially within the context of this dynamic cross-border region, the recent Baja California state governmental transition, and initiatives under the U.S.- Mexico High Level Economic Dialogue (HLED).
