This week saw a series of culminating events to this semester's expeditions of learning. K1 and K2 held their end-of-year celebrations that were as elaborate as they were fun: art galleries, video screenings, and buffet after buffet of food provided by our families were to be had.

These celebrations of learning, which include children, teachers, and families, embody the philosophy of our school's approach to education. At Conservatory Lab, we speak often of how it takes a village to raise a child, as said in that famous African proverb; indeed, our expeditions would not be as enriching as they are without the help of parents chaperoning trips and coming in to speak as experts. The knowledge and experience of our parents, our teachers, and our students shapes how our students learn, and takes our expeditions from good to great. The design principles of Expeditionary Learning stress the importance of collaboration, diversity, and inclusion, and we value these principles above all else at our school.

We work together, we problem-solve together, and we celebrate together the successes our children achieve. Now is the time of year that we look back and appreciate how far we've come from last fall. I am so pleased at all the progress our students have made, and I hope you each take the time to reflect and celebrate with your families.
