I am so pleased and delighted to be back from my sabbatical and back at my desk at school.
While it was refreshing to be away, with time to observe new things and reflect on many others, I can truthfully say that I missed seeing the faces of the teachers, the students, their parents as well as understanding and sharing the challenges and joys that they were facing.
The school has progressed significantly in my absence, increasing in staff and resources to better serve our students. Much thought has been given to changes, incl
uding a change of schedule, that will improve our school climate, culture and performance. I am indeed grateful to all who continued to labor with focus and dedication to ensure that we grow in excellence and maturity.
Externally, we are still facing the challenge of getting approval for our new building at the Bartlett Yard site in Roxbury. I am also so grateful to all of you, the parents that have stood shoulder to shoulder with us in this campaign to bring our positive message to the residents of Roxbury and the decision makers at the BRA. We have had two very well-attended meetings where your presence and your voice have made significant impact. We now are preparing for our third, final and most important meeting before the BRA. I cannot stress enough to all of you how important this meeting is for the future of our school in Roxbury. I am counting on you to be at the Shelburne Community Center, 2370 Washington Street, Roxbury at 6:00p.m on Tuesday, January 12, 2015.

PLEASE NOTE that there will be a BRA meeting on Tuesday, January 12. This is the most important meeting held by the BRA regarding our school. We absolutely need 200 parents at this meeting. The meeting will be at 6 pm at the Shelburne Community Center, 2730 Washington Street, Roxbury, MA 02119.
