Notes From the Top

Dear Parents,

At the curriculum nights held this week, the Student and Family Handbook which included the Code of Conduct was handed out to each family. In this handbook, particularly in the Code of Conduct section it is evident that at Conservatory Lab we value the building of character right alongside the development of academic and musical skills. We trust in parent support and collaboration to work together on this.Good character traits are essential when it comes to developing relationships and building self-esteem. Good character consists of defining our values and integrity based on time-tested principles and having the courage to live our life accordingly.  That is part of the purpose of having such focus on the school's CREW qualities of cooperation, responsibility, perseverance, empathy and reflection. If these are practiced at home as well as at school, our students will not only learn to be successful but will develop a nobility of heart, mind, and deed. Our best wishes to you for a happy September week-end.

Kind regards,
John Chistolini
Interim Head of School

With appreciation,
Nicole Bradeen
Principal

Parents, Take Note!
  • Dear Conservatory Lab Parents,

We are excited about a new school year and an energized PAC (Parent Advisory Council)! The mission of the PAC is to support our fellow parents and the school community.

We would like to invite you and your family to our first general PAC meeting and potluck on Friday, October 2nd, 2015, from 6 to 8 pm. The potluck will take place at VietAID, located at 42 Charles Street, Dorchester, MA 02122. It is close to the Fields Corner (Red Line) T-Stop, and there is street parking available.

This is a great time to meet other Conservatory Lab families and find out what the PAC has planned for the year. We need your help to build a great parent community! So bring a dish, and we'll see you on October 2nd.

If you want to find out more PAC news, be sure to sign up on our NEW website for parents: www.conservatorylabpac.ning.com

    Thanks,
    PAC Interim Leadership Team

  •  Are you interested in being involved in the leadership of the Parent Advisory Council (PAC)? In the past, the PAC has run monthly meetings for the school community on topics of interest, has been a forum for parent concerns, has support the bus buddies app that notifies parents when their bus has left the school, and has fundraised to support PAC events, the school, and our teachers. If you would like to have a say in what PAC does or if you have an idea you would like to implement that would improve community at our school, please join us from 6:30 - 8:30 pm on September 15 at the Dorchester school building. We will discuss how to structure the PAC to accomplish our goals and better serve families at our school. Kids are welcome, but should bring something to keep themselves occupied since there will not be childcare.
Please RSVP to Karen Lombard at kblombard@yahoo.com
