A Letter from Diana

Dear Parents,

I am writing to share news that is both professional and personal.  I have decided that this, my seventh year as Head of School, will be my last and that I will retire on June 30, 2016. This decision is a difficult and poignant one because I so deeply value the work we do together.

These past six years have been impressive ones of accomplishments for Conservatory Lab thanks to the hard work of current and former faculty, Board members and parents. I can honestly say I have never learned so much in my life. Serving on the ground, keeps one very close to the realities and challenges faced by many of our students and families every day.

I have been working since I was a 10-year old child in Lima, Peru.  It is, frankly, difficult for me to imagine a stage in my life when I will not be working round the clock. I do imagine that my retirement will be ripe with learning, service and leadership opportunities.

We have begun the 2015-2016 school year as our strongest yet, and I have full confidence that we will continue through to the most productive academic and artistic year in our history.

When I return from my Barr Fellow sabbatical, I look forward to working with our board, parents and faculty to lead Conservatory Lab through this transition.
There will be process for the selection of my successor which will include reaching out to all constituencies. A Search Committee will be formed that will include representatives from faculty and parents as well as the Board. There will be opportunities for being involved and your participation is valuable and important. More information will be forthcoming.

Diana Lam
I ask for your support in this leadership transition.  I pledge to give Conservatory Lab my best work in my final year at the helm.  Always, our first focus is on our students and their families and the realization of their full potential as scholars and musicians.

Warm Regards,
Diana

Parents, Take Note!

  • We have been notified by BPS Transportation that as of this next Tuesday, there will be new bus numbers for almost all our children. In order to ensure that you have the correct information for your child's bus number and route in time, we have placed the correct information in your child's pack back. Please check your child's pack back to get that sheet of information. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A Special Message from Virginie Cazir

It's that time again! It's our 4th year and the Anniversary of our beloved Gabriel's return home. This day is special to me because, thanks to your taking the time to sign our petition, we have a bill. Thank You! Thank You! Again! I say Thank You!

We are almost there, we need you again to sign our Bill!  You can make this bill a law. We hope to see you at the Gabriel Walk on Saturday, September 12 at 10 am. The walk will start at 1155 Blue Hill Ave at Mattapan Police Station. We will walk to Floyd Street and then to Harambee Park.

We will have treats and games for the kiddies!  Please bring a friend because we will need twice as much to make a law than we did to make the bill.

Thank you from my family to yours!

Best wishes,
Virginie Cazir
