Friends & Family Open House
Supports our Students

The Creative Center's Friends and Family Open House was, once again, a resounding success. Family members and other interested parties gathered to see what their students are working on and give their support. In addition, visitors were given the opportunity to learn more about the BFA degree program and attend a FAFSA workshop to prepare for the next school year.

With only a month left in the school year, this encouragement is well received - and well deserved!

On-Campus Interviews Prepare Students for the Job Hunt
On-Campus Interviews
Every year, second-year students attend a mock interview with a local professional. These interviews are held on campus, are recorded, and then are reviewed and critiqued one-on-one with the student. The Creative Center works hard to ensure that our graduates are prepared to confidently look for work after they graduate, and these interviews provide much needed practice for the crucial interviewing process.

The Creative Center would like to thank the following professionals for lending their time and experience to assist our students:
- Joseph Frost, Owner, Frost Media Group
- David Moore, Creative Director, Bozell
- Jim Paulison, Owner, Best Buy Signs
- John McMillan, COO/Partner, Vyral Marketing
- Thomas Kerr, Owner, Tom Kerr Creative, Inc.
- Mike Duman, VP/Co-Creative Director, SKAR
- Richard Lahti, Creative Director, Gordmans

Featured Project: App Design

BFA students create several campaigns in their third year of study, and these campaigns are required to include multiple media. Many times, students choose to design a phone app to accompany their campaign, ensuring that the design and strategy are consistent with the main message. Below are samples of app designs created by CC students:

Katherine Musil - graduate of Tri County Public Schools, DeWitt, NE
Kristine Osbourne - graduate of Millard West HS, Omaha, NE
Casey Swenson - graduate of Oakland-Craig HS, Oakland, NE

From the Director Kim Guyer

It is officially spring, and while I could do without the rain, it certainly has made everything very green and beautiful. For all the teachers out there, I know the countdown continues to the last day of class - here's to a strong finish to the school year!

If you are interested in professional development courses, the Creative Center will be offering more non-credit courses this summer. You can see all classes offered as they become available on Eventbrite.

If you are considering a career in graphic design and advertising, call us today to set up a time to interview. Fall classes for 2016 start on August 8.

Sincerely,
