Friends and Family Open House 2016
The Creative Center is hosting our 14th Annual Friends & Family Open House again this year on Friday, April 22, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This event is a great opportunity to support your student, and see first-hand all the stunning artwork in the classrooms and the Hall of Fame.

We love to celebrate our students' success, and what better way than to bring together the people that make up their support system. Come snack on popcorn and get a chance to brag about your student!

If you have a student who is considering attending the BFA program next year, we will have an orientation from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

If your student is returning to the Creative Center in the fall, remember that a separate FAFSA must be completed every year. EducationQuest is hosting a FAFSA workshop from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. so you can get that pesky detail out of the way sooner rather than later!

See you then!

Featured Project: Magazine Campaign

Graphic designers not only need to be able to make an ad look good; they need to be able to maintain consistency between ads in the same campaign to increase brand awareness and recognition. BFA students are tasked with creating magazine ads as part of a larger campaign, concentrating on consistency between pieces. Below are samples of magazine ads created by CC students:

Brandon Henry - graduate of Humboldt HS, Humboldt, KS
Shelbie Granger - graduate of Thomas Jefferson HS, Council Bluffs, IA
Julian Marcello - graduate of Lincoln Southeast HS, Lincoln, NE

Mag Ads - B Henry

Mag Ads - S Granger Mag Ads - J Marcello

From the DirectorKim Guyer

Can you believe there are only two months until summer break?! I'm pretty sure that means that these freak snowstorms can stop anytime; I'm ready to work in the garden!

If you are interested in professional development courses, the Creative Center will be offering more non-credit courses this summer. You can see all classes offered as they become available on Eventbrite.

If you are considering a career in graphic design and advertising, call us today to set up a time to interview. Fall classes for 2016 start on August 8.
