Featured Project: Self-Promotional Websites
Every year, the second-year and BFA students are required to create a self-promotional website to assist them in their job hunt. The Creative Center then hosts these sites on CC's website for one year after they graduate, to give them the best opportunity to be seen by the employment community.
Here's some nice end-of-the-year news: many CC students already have either a full-time job or an internship - including seven in the BFA program - before graduating! Congratulations, and we look forward to hearing about more job securements from the rest of our graduates!
Back row: Chris Van Horn, Megan Christiansen, Katie Musil, MK Brennan
Front Row: Kristine Osbourne, Carissa Johnson, Amy Arnold
Below are samples of self-promo websites created by CC students:
Kristine Osbourne - graduate of Millard West HS in Omaha, NE
Julian Marcello - graduate of Lincoln Southeast HS, Lincoln, NE
Amy Arnold - graduate of North Fort Myers HS, North Fort Myers, FL

Graduate of the Month
Jill Boyce
AOS '99
Senior Product Designer at Oriental Trading Company (OTC) in Omaha, NE
High School: Omaha Christian Academy in Omaha, NE
What does the company do? Oriental Trading Company offers an assortment of novelty toys and gifts that make the world more fun.
What does the graduate do?
I concept, design, and review new exclusive products for OTC and Fun Express (a division of OTC) customer segments. I work with categories like Craft, Education, Party, Holidays, Faith, Spirit, Awareness, Wedding, and Grand Events.
Clients: We have both internal and external clients. Our design department works closely with our buying team to generate items. A lot of our customers are teachers, crafters, event coordinators, and mothers, to name a few. We also design for Fun Express clients like Chuck E. Cheese and Dairy Queen.
Comments: During college I worked for Oriental Trading company as a customer service representative. By the end of my college term with the Creative Center, I discovered OTC had its own design department. I applied and was offered a position shortly after graduation. This has been the best place to work, as the creativity is amazing! We have a wide range of customer segments to work with from kid's crafts to adult jewelry, home decor to large event party decor, stationery to activity packs, novelty toys to nice plush giftables, and more. This year I received an Entrepreneur and Innovation Award for working with a Fun Express representative in developing some Chuck E. Cheese birthday apparel. It was exciting to see the product in TV and Internet advertisements.
