On-Campus Interviews
by Industry Professionals

On-Campus Interview

The Creative Center prides itself in preparing students for the job search process, including resume creation, portfolio building, and, of course, interviewing. As a critical part of this training, second-year students are required to attend interviews presided by volunteers from the local design industry. These interviews are recorded, and then students are led through the recording and critiqued on their progress, providing vital information that will assist them in displaying a confident attitude when applying for employment.

Many thanks to the following volunteers who interviewed students:

Mark Carpenter, SKAR Advertising

Mike Duman, SKAR Advertising

Ed Hunt, Darkside Advertising

Thomas Kerr, Tom Kerr Creative

John McMillan, Vyral Marketing

Q&A With Creative Entrepreneurs

Business Owner Panel

Joseph Frost, Frost Media Group

Robin Donovan, Bozell

Pat Ervin, Fountain Creek DezignWorks (formerly Ervin and Smith)

Ed Hunt, Darkside Advertising

Time for Family and Friends to Bloviate!

Friends and Family Open House

Who doesn't like to brag about their kids or their friends? The Friends and Family Open House offers a yearly opportunity for all supporters to explore the achievements of their Creative Center attendees. What better way to gather material for competitive conversations at the local watering hole? Having the opportunity to see all this great work in person is icing on the cake.

Featured Project: Responsive Websites

Anyone involved in web design or development knows that responsive websites are integral to ensuring that your website can be viewed on most any screen - computer, tablet, or phone. In the BFA class, students hone their responsive web skills and design not only functional, but beautiful websites that are accessible across all media.

Below are samples of responsive websites created by CC students:

Jessica Smolinski - graduate of Omaha Central HS in Omaha, NE

Kyle Theobald - graduate of Millard West HS in Omaha, NE

Breanna Bland - graduate of Millard South HS in Omaha, NE
