Kansas City, Here We Come!
Every year, second-year students have an opportunity to travel to Kansas City to visit two advertising agencies who call the midwest their home.
Kansas City is the global headquarters for VML, with 26 offices on six continents. Their KC office alone houses 400 employees.
Barkley is the largest employee-owned agency in the country, and their KC office is one of four in the US.
With their graduation from the associate degree coming in June, these students are getting an excellent preview of how different advertising agencies operate. Perhaps they had a bit of fun on the trip as well!

Featured Project: Surreal Rock Band Posters
All artists know that art history is a fundamental part of any artist's education. Learning past styles is integral to understanding and predicting future trends. As part of their second semester of art history, first-year students are charged with creating a rock poster specifically in a surrealist style in order to better appreciate its subtleties.
Below are samples of surreal posters created by CC students:
Ashley Mae Miller (Fall Out Boy) - graduate of Marshalltown HS in
Albion, IA
Kaylee Stone (Of Monsters and Men) - graduate of Winterset HS in
Winterset, IA
Weston Knobloch (Toby Mac) - graduate of West Lyon Community School
in Inwood, IA
Harrison Fields (Disturbed) - homeschooled in Kennard, NE
Julian Marcello (Mumford & Sons) - graduate of Lincoln Southeast HS in
