John Henry Müller Encourages Design Students

John Henry Müller

On his way to speak at a conference in Lincoln, alumnus John Henry Müller visited the Creative Center to give our students a taste of his life as a designer. John Henry grew up in Le Mars, Iowa before attending the Creative Center and then opening his own business, What Cheer (named after the Iowa town). Most recently, John Henry moved to California to be part of a team called Pack, which focuses on dogs and the people who love them.

Throughout his presentation, John Henry gave excellent advice and encouragement to the students for their journey in this awesome career field.

Graduate of the Month Kariann Lien

Kariann Lien

AOS '14
Graphic Designer at Adam Michael Jewelry in Omaha, NE

High School:
Brandon Valley HS in Brandon, SD

What does the company do? Adam Michael Jewelry is a locally owned modern jewelry store managing several different retail websites.

What does the graduate do? I bounce from managing different social media accounts like Pinterest, Polyvore, Google Plus, Instagram, etc. to jewelry photography, color correcting and editing photos, and updating several different retail websites.

Comments: I am lucky to work for such a small company. I work directly with the owner and the Senior Graphic Designer, who also graduated from the Creative Center. I wish I would have listened to the instructors at the Creative Center better when they stressed the importance of the Pen Tool; I spent a couple hours reteaching myself at work ... but now I'm a Pen Tool Master!

From the Director    Kim Guyer
We at the Creative Center hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and we wish you a very Merry Christmas. We are extremely thankful for everyone in the education and design communities who help to make our students' futures so bright.

If you are considering a career in graphic design and advertising, Christmas Break is a great time to visit the campus - call us today to set up a time to interview. Fall classes for 2015 start on August 10.
