Halloween Awesomeness
Halloween isn't just another holiday at an art college!

Halloween 2014

Featured Project: Billboards

Second-year students are charged with creating a billboard that "must be bold, simple, easy to read, and above all, clever and creative." Students must pick a client from a list, and must turn in their finished billboard in a photo-realistic setting.

Below are samples of billboards created by CC students:
Katelyn Goecker - graduate of Louisville HS in Louisville, NE
Blake Davies - graduate of Wathena/Riverside HS in Wathena, KS
Randi Schrage - graduate of Elgin Pope John Central Catholic HS in
    Elgin, NE
Julian Marcello - graduate of Lincoln Southeast HS in Lincoln, NE
Brandon Henry - graduate of Humboldt HS in Humboldt, KS

Jessica Smolinski Graduate of the Month

Jessica Smolinski

BFA '14
Associate Interactive Designer at Hayneedle in Omaha, NE

High School:
Central HS in Omaha, NE

What does the company do? Hayneedle.com has become one of the nation's largest onlineretailers, offering more than 3,000 brands and nearly 2 million products for the home.

What does the graduate do? I am the one who picks up the slack when others run out of time. I deal with both the print and web side of things. I can work on brochures, ads, mailers, and at the same time, I can help make site updates and emails.

Clients: Hayneedle is in-house, but we also run Plumstruck and Specialty Stores.

Comments: Some very talented designers in the community work at Hayneedle, and I feel honored to work under them. I hope to gain as much knowledge and experience as I can from this opportunity.

From the Director    Kim Guyer Halloween 2014
Happy Halloween from the Creative Center! As you can see, even the faculty and staff get involved on this holiday - how could we not? I hope you have fun, and don't eat too much candy. I'm always grateful when this holiday lands on a Friday; it makes wrangling my trick-or-treaters that much easier. :)

If you are considering a career in graphic design and advertising, call us today to set up a time to interview and visit our campus. Fall classes for 2015 start on August 10.

Sincerely,
