Sports Dress-Up Day brings out the athlete in all of us.
Sports Dress-Up Day was August 29 (the Friday before the Huskers' first game) and students were able to support their favorite team.
While we had many Nebraska fans, there were a few rivals out there to stir things up.

Real-World Challenge.
Real-World Success.
Nicole White was integral in the creation of concept illustrations for the app.
Being affiliated with a design studio can have its perks. Dotzler Creative Arts (DCA) just launched an app called "Life's A Jungle" for Step Up To Life that's been in the works for over a year. With thousands of artist-hours involved, DCA was happy to hire numerous Creative Center students and graduates to help design and illustrate this massive project.
Creative Center artists, designers and illustrators working together on this endeavor included: Jan Dotzler, Todd Eby, Nicole White, Dylan Ludwick, Chris Driver, Sarah Pfeiffer, Samantha Thomas, Olivia Fries, Emmily Petersen, Melanie Koraleski and Tim Grutsch. The creative director and producer was Ray Dotzler, and creative and technical direction was provided in part by Paul Straatmann.
Life's A Jungle is an adventure game, taking you on a jungle journey to find hidden messages which will help you discover the REAL treasure in life. You can play the game at lifesajungle.com or download the free app at lifesajungle.com/info.html.

Graduate of the Month
Cierra Calfee
BFA '14
Interactive Developer at Christ Community Church in Omaha, NE
High School: Clarinda HS in Clarinda, IA
What does the company do? The Communications team of the church provides campaign work for upcoming series in the church as well as other events that the church takes part in. These series are promotions for the church to gain more disciples to the gospel.
What does the graduate do? I design everything from business cards to whole series campaigns. I also am involved in some art direction, getting estimates, and creating the brand for Christ Community Church.
Clients: We also do some design work for our sister church New City Church in Bellevue, as well as online campus, and other services around the church like kids connect, College fellowship, Deaf fellowship, etc.
Comments: I love this job. If you ever need a job that will help you find a deeper meaning in your design, work for a church, because they push everything as far as they can go. The people are great and the work is so different for each service even though it is one venue.

From the Director
Is October here already? This school year is flying by, but I'll admit that I'm ready for the cooler weather, golden leaves, and caramel apples.
Congratulations to Dotzler Creative Arts for the launch of their Life's A Jungle app. A project that big can be a blessing and a curse, and DCA has kept upbeat throughout.

Especially if you are considering a career in graphic design and advertising, call us today to set up a time to interview and visit our campus. Fall classes for 2015 start on August 10.
