Big Hearted Heroes_Stephanie on ice
CC Alumni join forces to gather donations for Fremont students.

Big Hearted Heroes (BHH) is a brand new team of do-gooders, who pick a new charity every few months, and run a challenge to raise money or goods for that charity.

They partnered with CC for the first ever 48-hour challenge and raised a truckload of clothes and gift cards to help kids in need in Fremont NE, the hometown of Social Media Director and a loud and proud Creative Center alumni, Stephanie Bradley (BFA 07). Other alumni involved were Tony Bradley (AOS 05) and Joe Cruz (AOS 06). All proceeds went directly to Fremont Low Income Ministries (LIM). LIM is a team of true heroes, and team BHH was proud to partner with them.

Stay tuned to BHH's Facebook page to learn how you can spread the word, and be a hero today!

Welcome Back, Students!
First Day of School 2014

The Creative Center is happy to welcome back our students for the 2014-2015 school year. Judging from the picture above, our students are happy to be back. Well, except for that guy in the gray t-shirt; he wishes summer was a bit longer.

Congratulations to
the 2014 winner of
the
Andy Arrants Memorial Scholarship!

Congratulations to Masey Murphy, a graduate of Arlington Public High School, in Arlington, NE, winner of the seventh-annual Andy Arrants Memorial Scholarship. Mr. and Mrs. Arrants were on hand to deliver the scholarship, which pays for Masey's supply kit (valued at about $500).

Andy Arrants was a student at the Creative Center who died unexpectedly in 2007. CC would like to send a big thank you to the Arrants family for their ongoing support of the Creative Center's students and for providing this scholarship every year.

Hats off to Masey, and here's to a creative future!

Featured Project: Product Ads/Labels

Second-year students are tasked with creating a new label for an existing product, then placing that new label design on a new bottle. In addition, they must create a full-color, full-page, magazine ad using a photograph of the new product. Below are samples of product ads created by CC students. Starting from the top, left:

Cierra Calfee (Triple Threat) -
graduate of Clarinda HS in Clarinda, IA
Katherine Musil (Sweet Scents Candies) -
graduate of Tri County Public Schools in DeWitt, NE

Jose Rojas (Zevia Soda) -

graduate of Bishop Heelan Catholic HS in Sioux City, IA
Adam Bialas (Apocalypse Cow) -
graduate of Fullerton HS in Fullerton, NE
Breanna Marsh (Heineken) -
graduate of Millard South HS in Omaha, NE
Carissa Johnson (Cattlemen's Barbecue Sauce) -
graduate of Roosevelt HS in Sioux Falls, SD
Cole Collett (Standard Issue Organic Foods) -
graduate of Bellevue West HS in Bellevue, NE
Kristine Osbourne (Beefeater Jin) -

From the Director
August has come and gone; the school year is officially off and running; and students, faculty, and staff are all starting to settle into their schedules. Oh, and football starts soon. What more could we ask for?

I'd like to congratulate Masey for winning the Andy Arrants Memorial Scholarship this year, and I'd like to thank the Arrants family for their continued support of our students. We truly appreciate you!

If you are considering a career in graphic design and advertising, call us today to set up a time to interview and visit our campus. Fall classes for 2015 start on August 10.

Sincerely,
