Kansas City or Bust!

KC Trip - VML

One of the most anticipated field trips at the Creative Center is the Kansas City Trip. This year, second-year students bussed to both VML and Barkley, soaking in all the information and creative atmosphere that those agencies provide. It's a long day, but as you can see, a good time was had by all!

Featured Project: Digital Annual Reports

Digital Annual Reports

Making information accessible and clear is one of the primary purposes of a graphic designer. One of the best challenges for designing information is the annual report, and second-year students are charged with doing just that. This year, students were also informed that their annual report would be created in a digital format instead of printed. Above are samples of digital annual reports created by CC students. Top to bottom:

Alisa Muckey - graduate of Roncalli Catholic High School in Omaha, NE
Megan Christiansen - graduate of Millard West High School in Omaha, NE
Cole Collett - graduate of Bellevue West High School in Bellevue, NE

Co-Owners of Omniclipse Comics

www.omniclipse.com

What does the company do?
Omniclipse is a new, independent comic book company, currently producing our debut series "The New Breed." Comics will be available for online download or online purchase of printed books.

What does the graduate do?
Nick: As a co-owner and creator for Omniiclipse comics, I work with a small creative team to develop our brand. My job includes (but is not limited to): editing, layouts, penciling, inking, coloring, conceptual design work, and serving as an art/story director.
Brett: I am primarily the penciler for our flagship book "The New Breed." As one of the founders of the company, my responsibilities have also covered character design and working out the story along with our writer and the other members of the team. I have also helped with marketing strategy and creating a brand for our company. I have a great team to help with a lot of the workload, so I can primarily focus on my penciling duties at the moment.

Omniclipse LogoComments: Omniclipse Comics' debut series "The New Breed" launches this August. Check out our website www.omniclipse.com for more information or email us at omniclipsecomics@gmail.com. Also, stop by our table in artist alley at Wizard World Chicago 2014. We will be selling our books and doing some very cool con sketches of you favorite characters! Help us grow this company and share in all the great things we expect to come from this labor of love.

From the Director
It was a special treat to host the families and friends of our students this month. Students were able to show off their hard work, and parents were able to gather more ammunition for bragging rights. As a bonus, several families were able to complete their FAFSAs for the next school year.

If you are a high school senior, and you are considering a career in graphic design and advertising, call us to set up a time to interview and visit our campus. Fall classes for 2014 start on August 11.
