Creative Center Earns More Awards for the Faces Campaign
The Creative Center, along with Dotzler Creative Arts, won in two additional design competitions with their Faces marketing campaign.
The faces cube (shown above) won a Gold in the Tenth Annual Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA).
SIAA is the only advertising awards to specifically recognize the achievements of the service industry. Many other advertising awards are dominated by consumer goods, packaged goods and other tangible products. The service industry is adding a significant contribution to marketing and advertising. SIAA recognizes the creativity and communication accomplishments of the service industry.
In the 28th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, the cube won a Silver award, and the entire campaign won a Merit award.
It was twenty-eight year's ago that this national competition began its efforts to recognize the field of educational marketing and advertising. Today, the industry has matured into a sophisticated and competitive field meeting the needs of knowledgeable prospects who are making their own educational decisions.
Dotzler Creative Arts is the affiliated design studio located next door to the college. Several Creative Center instructors are involved in the conception and production of commercial designs at Dotzler Creative Arts while teaching at the college.

Graduate of the Month
Kelsey Piper
BFA '11
Graphic Designer and Intern Team Leader at Wright Printing in Omaha, NE
www.wright-print.com
High School: Alliance High School in Alliance, NE
What does the company do? Wright Printing is a 24-hour printing company. We handle quick turnaround jobs for our business-to-business cards. We also have several pre-printed stock items sold to schools, music stores, and other companies across the country.
What does the graduate do? I'm in charge of redesigning and updating our stock items as well as any other internal design projects. I will also help train our summer interns we hire to help with the workload during our busy season.
Clients: Companies both local and nationwide, including schools, daycares, and music stores, as well as other graphic design companies.
Comments: I feel I've learned a lot of different skills from this job, especially since I started out at the bottom as an intern. I have a much better understanding of printing/production and the industry as a whole. This job definitely teaches you to work quickly and efficiently, and I wouldn't trade the knowledge I've gained for anything!

From the Director A special congratulations to all our ADDY-winning students. I also want to compliment ALL our students who entered the competition. While awards are a great addition to a portfolio, they are not an automatic ticket to employment. Keep working on your book, and you will impress all the professionals this April at Portfolio Review Night!
Our next Open House is Saturday, March 16 from 11am - 3pm. High school seniors, let us know if you are interested in pursuing a career in graphic design and advertising. Fall classes start on August 12, 2013.
Sincerely, Kim Guyer Executive Director Creative Center 10850 Emmet Street Omaha, NE 68164 402-898-1000 x205 kim_g@creativecenter.edu www.creativecenter.edu
