We hope you'll mark your calendar right now for this spring's Mass Bay District annual meeting, on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9 am until 1 pm at the First Parish in Lexington. This could be a historic gathering, and possibly the last annual meeting of the MBD, if the gathered delegates vote to dissolve the district.
This is not a new idea. With the move to regionalization, district boundaries have become more permeable and district boards are exploring what role, if any, we have going forward. Delegates to last year's meeting directed the MBD Board to research dissolution and report back to this year's meeting. This is an important decision, and the Board is working to discern the best way forward. In the coming weeks we will be providing congregations with background material so delegates can make an informed decision on April 23.
