RIS Party in the Park: Register Now!

Registration for the 2013 Party in the Park is now open to all.  

 

Join us on July 22 for this exciting and wonderful evening of fun, celebration, learning and meaning.  To  see the full 2013 Party Program, click here.  

 

Register on-line now, for both the free Sarcoma Family Picnic and the Party in the Park.  The Party is open to the public, and anyone may walk up and register for the Party at Como Park on the evening of the event. 

 

Yet we'd really like you to register in advance, which will make this process smooth for us all!     

  • Help us to achieve shorter lines and faster times.   
  • Walk right up to the Will Call table!
  • Check right out after the Closing Ceremony!

Join our All Hands Meeting on Tuesday evening, June 11, at the home of Pete and Sue Wyckoff.  This our big chance to learn about the Party, contribute Party plans, contribute to Raffle and Silent Auction success, and break out into committee groups to do our work.  You will get your first view of our gorgeous new promotional materials and you can pick up copies to share and spread the word!

 

Gather at 6:30 p.m. for a meeting that begins promptly at 7:00.  (For details, click here.)  Your physical presence there makes our work so much easier!  Please bring any silent auction items you have already collected, get print materials to distribute, take home raffle tickets to sell, and keep our Party moving. To RSVP for the "All Hands" meeting, click here. 

Sarcoma Family Picnic 2012

Are you a sarcoma patient or survivor, or have you lost a loved one to sarcoma?  If so, you and your family are invited to a special picnic just before this year's Party in the Park to celebrate life in a caring community that shares a common bond. Meet others who may share your experience ad have the chance to talk with sarcoma doctors, researchers and staff from the the University of Minnesota, Mayo Clinic, and Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. 

   

This family picnic is free - thanks to the continued sponsorship of American Family Insurance. While the picnic is free, registration is required for each person in your immediate family by Monday, July 15. To learn more or to register, click here.


The support and collaboration of hundreds of individuals and corporations will make this year's Party in the Park on July 22nd our best ever!  Here's how you can help!

RIS NAMED FUNDS - JOINING OUR MISSION

RIS is honored to announce the establishment of a new RIS Named Fund.  The RIS Laura Zeccardi Fund, has been established by her parents Alan and Linda to honor the memory of their daughter Laura who was lost to sarcoma in February. To read Laura's story click here

    

The Zeccardi family joins with over a dozen Named Tribute and Memorial Funds who annually support the work of RIS by significant contributions. These new Funds will be dedicated, and all active Funds will be recognized, during our Party's Closing Ceremony.   We join in grieving the loss of the following individuals:
  • Zach Sobiech - though he was just 18 years old, Zach's story and music have inspired thousands of others.  Zach's gifts included not only the very popular "Clouds" but also the sound track of the RIS Video: "From Never heard of it, to We caught it early".
  • Steve Wing - RIS Board member, a gifted and committed  RIS leader and one of the first to establish an RIS Named Fund, in memory of his wife Elinda Bates Wing.

The annual RIS Garage Sale will be returning this September! Start now to set aside your "treasures" and "rare miscellany"  to contribute to this wonderful and fun two-day event now scheduled for Thursday and Friday, September 12th and 13th.

The Karen Wyckoff Rein in Sarcoma Foundation is the primary sarcoma cancer foundation in the upper Midwest. Our mission is "dedicated to educating the public and medical community about sarcomas, supporting sarcoma patients and their loved ones, and funding research directed toward developing new treatments and finding a cure for sarcoma cancers."    We are an all-volunteer non-profit organization, which allows over 92% of our revenues to directly support our mission!
