Located in Georgetown, KY, adjacent to the Old Friends farm, the two-story colonial home will be available for week-long rentals beginning March 25.
The home offers four bedrooms, three full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, plus a spacious living room and dining area.
Only a short drive from I-75/I-64 exits 113 or 120, and less than 25 minutes from the Bluegrass Airport, Old Friends's newly available guest house is nestled in a rustic country setting in the heart of Bluegrass Country.
This tastefully decorated colonial is the perfect home base for exploring Lexington and surrounding area attractions, from shopping and dining to a day at Keeneland for the races, a visit to the Kentucky Horse Park, or to any of the famous Thoroughbred farms or Bourbon Distilleries. It's also a perfect respite for quiet relaxation.
The two-story house sits on five private acres on the perimeter of Old Friends Farm, which is home to over 100 retired Thoroughbreds. While your evenings can be spent in the cozy Silver Charm suite--a room celebrating just one of the farm's retired Kentucky Derby winners--your day can include a tour around the farm to meet pensioned racing champions.
Old Friends is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that cares for more than 170 retired racehorses. Its Dream Chase Farm offers daily walking tours of the facility. The new vacation cottage will help to further expand its outreach into local tourism.
"This is such a unique opportunity, not only for horse lovers and racing fans, but for all tourists visiting the Bluegrass," said Old Friends founder and President Michael Blowen. "Guests will be able to visit with our retired athletes on the farm, and their stay will help support our organization. But we're also very proud to be able to help showcase all of the other wonderful sites and adventures the area has to offer."
