New resident Silver Ray has settled in. He's a kind, gentle retiree who was in a very dangerous situation. From the Exceller Fund and Polo Pony Rescue to Old Friends, it was a terrific example of working together to give him a dignified retirement. Geri is nearly out of quarantine at Hurstland Farm. We are moving our retirees from Merefield Farm to Nuckols Farm, just down the street in Midway. They'll be at the same farm where Kentucky Derby Champion Monarchos stands. This puts us in a better situation for both our horses and our bottom line. We very much appreciate Charles Nuckols' stepping up to help our horses and they'll have excellent care.
We are, as always, working very hard to raise money. We are also trying to find ways to lower our operating expenses without sacrificing our standards of care. I asked Ron Wallace, who runs Equine Farm Management, to go over our ten year history and current situation. He will advise us on how we can improve our operation. Ron managed Juddmonte and Chanteclair and has a sterling reputation. We're very grateful for his help and it adds to our growing credibility among experienced horsemen.
Sadly, we have to start charging admission for our tours. We have many expenses that are incurred because of giving tours. For example, insurance for visitors and golf cart purchases and repairs. Admission will be $10.00 for adults and kids under 12 are free. Our members and certificate shareholders have a lifetime season pass.
We have a very personable new addition: Ferocious Won. He was a terrific New York bred who wasn't running up to his usual standards at Finger Lakes. He's a bright-eyed, intelligent chestnut.
We have many, many Thoroughbreds waiting. Our only job is to get them into a well-managed, caring retirement. For now, they depend on us more than ever and I thank you, in advance, for your assistance.
