As the cleanup following hurricane Sandy continues, we hope you and yours are safe, sound, and free of damage, personal or physical. Meanwhile, Jewish leaders are preparing for the 2012 General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). As in years past, BJPA has compiled a Resource Guide to accompany the GA, providing links to a selection of related publications to accompany each session. (Check listings; actual sessions may differ from the version of the program reflected in our Guide.) Whether you are attending this year's GA or not, we hope you will find this guide a useful companion to the larger dialogue about these issues in Jewish life.

Guest Introduction: Mandell "Bill" Berman
I recall attending my first General Assembly, of what was then the Council of Jewish Federations (the forerunner of the Jewish Federations of North America), in 1962. This year, 50 years later, I will be joining many of my old friends, and several younger generations of Jewish leaders in Baltimore. As you may know, I have been privileged to support the Berman Jewish Policy Archive @ NYU Wagner (www.BJPA.org ). This remarkable effort has brought together nearly 15,000 vital documents that can inform and enlighten Jewish communal policy makers throughout North America and beyond. This BJPA Reader's Guide -- focused upon the incredibly rich and diverse program of this year's GA -- will undoubtedly help you enhance your GA experience. In addition, as you browse through the wide array of documents keyed to each session, you'll grow to appreciate --as I do--the value of the Archive for communal leaders, both lay and professional. Happy browsing, happy reading, and may you have a truly rewarding experience at JFNA's General Assembly. Click here to download the Guide.
