The 12U Piedmont GOLD Tournament Team (Piedmont Bulls) opened the Cal Ripken World Series Friday night with a hard fought 1-0 win against the Hartford County  Host Team (Hickory Hornets).

It was a pitchers game tonight as Seth Bialecki pitched 4 innings of one hit baseball. Brian Gilardi closed the game out with 2 innings of no hit baseball. Brian Gilardi also had the lone RBI to put the Piedmont Team on top 1-0.

There was a great Piedmont crowd at the game and the coaches wanted everyone to know how much the team appreciated the support. The next game is Sunday at 3PM at Nationals Field and another great crowd would be fantastic.
