"Complete Efficiency" Contest
 The City of Green has partnered with The K Company to promote the City's Living Green initiatives. This partnership is focused on working with businesses as a resource to evaluate, benchmark, audit, install and/or even finance energy retrofit projects with the goal of saving your business money. The K Company and the City of Green are sponsoring a contest to donate services that can improve your business' efficiency with an Energy Benchmarking Report, Six Sigma project, an ASHRAE Level II Energy Audit and qualification for financing for energy efficient projects.

Communitywide Food Drive - Green Gives Back
 There's still time to participate in the Citywide Food Drive -- Green Gives Back -- running through December 31. The food drive will collect items for Green Good Neighbors, which serves Green and the surrounding communities. Non-perishable food and personal care items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, diapers, feminine products, etc., will be accepted at all City buildings, all school buildings, Akron-Summit County Public Library - Green Branch, Akron General Health and Wellness Center, Green YMCA, and Buehler's (former Portage Lakes IGA). The City is encouraging all residents and businesses to participate this holiday season to help those in our community who are in need. Annual Holiday Pops Concert
It wouldn't be the holiday season without the annual Akron Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Pops concert. Make this concert an annual tradition. This year's event will be held on Wednesd  ay, December 18, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at The Chapel, Green Campus. Tickets are $10 per person for adults; $5 for children 12 years and younger. Tickets can be purchased online or by contacting the City of Green Parks & Recreation Office as 330.896.6621.

State of the City Address Set for January 29
Mayor Norton will present his annual State of the City Address on Wednesday, January 29 at at 7:00 p.m. at Raintree Country Club. There will be a social hour before the address at 6:00 p.m., including hors d'oeuvres. This special council meeting is open to the public, but reservations are required and should be sent to Amy Sehm at asehm@cityofgreen.org or by calling 330.896.6602. RSVP deadline is January 24.

The City of Green recently mailed a marketing brochure highlighting the recent investment along the Massillon Road corridor to realtors, developers, brokers and site locators in our area and across the nation.
