Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to have fun when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Organizing Services. I hope they
make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this now & then file or delete it.
How ironic if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

Lid Holder from Box
Do Box
Lids are always a challenge in the kitchen. Bang out this easy tip without buying anything new! Make a lid holder & lots more from humble cereal or cracker boxes. Remember to toss any unneeded lids. (Also check out this project's author, Crafty Journal, & DIY Kitchen Organization: addictive & clever.)

Don't Do the Whole Thing
Don't dedicate a whole weekend to a project. Chipping-away can trump the one-fell-swoop method, especially if it gets you to start. Take 5 minutes to sort 1 closet shelf: give-aways to the donate bag, keepers grouped by type, "elsewheres" to other rooms. Follow through on these so you're not leaving things strewn about, & continue when you get the next spare moment
GET

Get Loud
I love listening to podcasts on my smartphone, & 2 gadgets that have made that easier are a phone stand & a pocket charger. In a pinch, there are also lots of DIY ways to approximate a phone stand, & instead of speakers you can rest the phone in a bowl to amplify its sound!

Give a Home
Habitat for Humanity believes that "every man, woman, & child should have a decent, safe, & affordable place to live." We can all get behind that! And we can donate furniture, home accessories, & building supplies to their ReStore locations (pick-ups are often available), as well as cash to support their good work.
