Do Ask for a Deadline
Most of us are more likely to get something done if we have a deadline. (It works for the IRS.) So ASK for one the next time you're tapped for a non-time-sensitive task you want to do, but that might keep falling to the end of the to-do list. You'll feel compelled to meet it! You & your friends, family, & coworkers will be glad.

Don't Tidy
Ever tidy up as a way to procrastinate? Everything doesn't need to be perfectly in place at all times. Stowing-as-you-go is a brilliant habit, but if it spreads into washing a sink full of dishes or filing an acre of paper when it's time to do more substantive work, let the dishes sit for a few hours until it's done.

Get Hooked
Removable adhesive Command hooks (3M) are life-savers. Last week I tried to screw in 2 normal hooks, but gave up when I realized I'd pierce a duct. So I switched to stick-on Command hooks! (Photo: a hole about to be covered by a 2nd Command hook.) There's a wide variety of other stick-up-able products, too.

Give Relief by Veterans
Team Rubicon unleashes the knowledge, experience, and energy of military veterans in emergency zones. Working with first-responders to serve victims of disasters like Hurricane Sandy and the earthquake in Haiti, they go where most volunteers can't, & help themselves reintegrate in the process. You can help too!
