Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be lazy when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Organizing Services. I hope they
make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this now & then file or delete it.
How ironic if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

giftwrap with cardboard tube cuff

Do Repurpose

Cut down one side of the cardboard tube from a roll of toilet paper, then "cufff" it around a roll of giftwrap to keep the paper from flopping around. Genius! Tubes are also great for wrangling extension cords. Simple, free, useful -- heaven. Check out more "new uses for old things" here and here. Addictive.

DON'T

Don't Lid
A box is frequently more useful without its lid than with it. When storing often- used items (eg, office supplies, toys), a lid is a barrier to returning them to the box, which is THE KEY to staying organized. Unless your need to keep the item safe or good-looking trumps your need to keep it organized, skip the lid.
GET
Get Magic Notebooks
I am a lover of paper in a world that will never truly be paperless. Wouldn't it be great to combine the ease of a spiral-bound notebook with the flexibility of a binder, minus the fuss with the hole punch & rings? With these systems (Circa, Rollabind, & Arc) you can pull out & rearrange pages.
GIVE

alpha house interfaith hospitality network

Give a Home
Alpha House helps families stay together during homelessness and thrive in new, stable homes. Their amazing work helps 40-50 southeast Michigan families per year, and has done for the past 20 years. Chip in to support the next 20, with dollars or elbow grease
