Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be thankful when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Organizing Services. I hope they
make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this now & then file or delete it.
How ironic if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Save & Save

Save your future self time, money, & stress (in case your wallet is lost or stolen) while saving your current self some gift-giving cash. 1: Empty your wallet. 2: Take an image of all cards -- front & back -- using your printer or camera; keep it in a safe place. 3: Use the gift cards you find to do your holiday shopping. Ta da!

DON'T

Don't Do It Yourself
The lovely people who share your home can put their own stuff away, thank you very much. But that doesn't mean endless clutter. Designate a bin as the Home for Wayward Stuff, & let it be known that all unclaimed items will be donated after a decent interval. And do it! They'll catch on, & everyone will be happier.
GET

Get Wrapped
For pretty presents without dedicating a whole room to giftwrap, this idea is brilliant (scroll down for the finished project). Remember to recycle anything that doesn't fit, & consider stashing kids' artwork here to "upcycle" as wrapping paper or gift tags. FYI: elfa has free shipping this week & goes on sale after Christmas.
GIVE

Give Tuesday
Start a new #GivingTuesday tradition! Browse 2,000+ charitable organizations
& send them some holiday cheer in the form of cash or time. Discover new groups or show a long-time favorite how much you care. Mine will be DonorsChoose.org, where teachers like my friend's sister raise funds for their classrooms.
PLAN

Organize Now for a Fun & Easy 2013
Give yourself the tools you need to really keep that "get organized" resolution. Better yet: ask for a gift certificate! We'll identify your trouble spots, break your project down into manageable steps, & keep in touch to make sure you can maintain the great progress you make. I'm scheduling organizing sessions in both the Detroit & Chicago areas for Dec and Jan. Call or email to find your best time.
