Happy Holidays and Thank You from all of us at Cleary Bros. Landscape for a great year!  To celebrate the holiday spirit early, we held a Coloring Contest to decide the artwork for our Holiday Card.  We had such a great time (and some difficulty) choosing a winner from so many fantastic entries. 
  
We proudly announce our contest winner for the cover of our card is Emily Guiterrez, age 11!!  Awesome job Emily!  It's hard not to smile when you see our Cleary Bros. logo with elves and a sleigh full of toys (there's even a shovel!)   
  
Since we are such softies and couldn't pick just one winner, the artwork on the back of the card is by Samantha Siegfried, age 7.  Way to go Samantha!!  To see all of our little artist's works, visit our website www.clearybros.com or Facebook page!

Daniel Ray

Daniel has 23 years experience in the tree care industry and literally started his career from the ground up. He began working for a large national tree care company as a ground person, quickly moved to a crew leader then into management. Dan's experiences as a field employee (yep, he was one of those tree climbing guys) has helped him better understand how to properly evaluate and manage our customer's trees. Dan has worked with Cleary Bros. for 4 years and enjoys collaborating with our Landscape Maintenance account managers to provide them with experienced recommendations for their properties. "The team we have at Cleary is top notch and I am thrilled to be a part of the Cleary Team".

 

Dan enjoys cycling.  Just this year he's logged more than 2,600 miles which includes competing  in "The Death Ride" a one day 129 mile ride in the Sierra's with 5 mountain passes and 15,000 feet in climbing!  One of his most grueling challenges & accomplishments of the year!   When he's not biking he also enjoys spending time with his family and camping.

Grand Hyatt Union Square San Francisco 

  

Cleary Brothers teamed up with Carducci and Associates Landscape Architects once again to Design/ Build another fantastic landscape project. The goal was to enhance the main entry to the Grand Hyatt Hotel at Union Square in San Francisco to complement a major renovation to the interior of the hotel. The final design that met the owners time and cost budget was to have custom planters built by Tournesol Siteworks in Hayward to fit over the old existing brick stair case. The planters came complete with a self fed capillary irrigation system for ease of long term maintenance. The plant selection was carefully designed by Carducci to withstand the deep shade, low water use and most important - look stunning! Each planter was then topped off with glass mulch shipped in from Utah. Both the general contractor, Howard S. Wright and the Hyatt hotel were both very pleased with the results.

Birch Creek HOA - Renovation

 

Over the course of the last year, we worked closely with the Board, the Property Manager and Consultant LDG, to provide a budget, design and ultimately install a full landscape renovation of this 61 unit HOA.

 

The objective of the renovation was to save on water costs by using drought-tolerant plants, converting the existing spray head to Netafirm drip in all the shrub areas to reduce runoff, help mitigate some of the hardscape damage from previous overspray and mulching the entire property to help retain soil moisture.

 

We updated the appearance of the property by eliminating the ivy, removing the many woody shrubs and hedges. Using a varied and more contemporary plant palette we are able to provide year-round interest by having spring, summer, fall and winter blooming plants. Bring light to some of the dark, shady areas by using white flowering shrubs or using shrubs with leaves variegated with white, and give a sense of continuity throughout the property without being monotonous.

 

We are very pleased with the installation of this project and look forward to maintaining it and the close relationships we've developed for many years to come.
