Building Project Update!
Throughout the past month there has been a lot of progress on the construction site. The gymnasium is taking shape and the building expansion connected to it is evolving into a wood structure. Three geothermal wells have been drilled. After football season is complete, the drainage system will be installed. We witness change on the site each day and it's very exciting!
The Club continues to be busy with Club members participating in programs each day! With so many children attending, it is evident the Club is an important and vital resource in the community. We have a $10 million goal for the building project and have raised over $7 million to date! We need the support of our entire community as we all have a stake in the care and success of the youth of Nantucket. There is a great future ahead for hundreds of boys and girls!

NBGC Partners with the Under the Tree Foundation to Provide for Local Teens
This year, the NBGC is one of the first Clubs to participate in the "Branch out Program" created by the Under the Tree Foundation, a program created by a member from the Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester, which provides holiday gifts for teens whose families may not be able to provide gifts for them.
This year the Club will work to fill the wish of 12 Club Teen Members. Each member chosen will choose an item they would like to receive (within the $50.00 limit). The "Wish List" will be posted and members of the community will be given the opportunity to either donate money or fulfill an item from the Wish List.
If you are interested in being a part of the program or making a donation, please contact Megan Cronin, Program Director.

Athletics
Another successful football season is slowly winding down. The All-Star teams have games scheduled for this Sunday, being playing at Lincoln High School in Rhode Island (weather depending, please check our website and Facebook page for updates!). The sixth grade All Star team will play their last game at Mashpee High School, vs. Martha's Vineyard on Saturday, November 8th.
Thank you so much to all of our volunteer coaches and referees who make each season possible!

Please note, basketball signups will begin November 3rd for grades 1st through 8th. Basketball is part of our "Tier One" athletic programs. If the Tier One athletic fee is a hardship for your family, please fill out a financial aid form or call Justine or Phyllis here at the Club!
Due to construction, all basketball games and practices will take place at the Nantucket Elementary school this season. Thank you to NES and their staff for allowing us to use their space!
