New Leadership Clubs Off to a Great Start
While we've had a Torch Club in the past, we are excited to reintroduce it to our members this school year. Torch Club is a small leadership and service club for boys and girls ages 11-13. Torch Club members learn to work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation. Already this school year, our Torch Club has hosted our first middle school dance of the year. The theme of the dance was "Stop Bullying Now" and put an emphasis on the seriousness of bullying and what teens can do prevent it. Another program that was done a few years ago, Money Matters, has also just been brought back to our teen programming. The Money Matters program promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest. We are thrilled to have volunteers from the community come in to assist our teens with this exciting new program!

Family Fun Night
On Friday, November 15th we will be holding a Family Fun Night here at the Club. Club members and their families are invited to join us for an evening of food, music, games and activities including, our own version of "Kids Say the Darndest Things", a talent show, our All Star Dodgeball Game, and more!
The dinner will be pot luck style. There will be a sign up sheet located at the front desk. Please stop by and sign up to bring something to share with the party.
The fun will begin at 5:00pm and will go on until 7:30pm. The Club will close for regular Club members at 8:00pm that evening, however will remain open for Teen Night until 10:30pm.
Hope to see everyone here!

Members Help with Local Building Campaign
Everyone is helping out with our Building Project- including our members! We officially kicked off our Local Building Campaign on October 21st to our own Club members. Each member has been given a challenge to go out and raise funds for THEIR Club! The member who collects the most money in their respective age group, will win a very unique prize.
We're proud to say- that in only TWO weeks, our members have raised a total of $3,458.17!
Club members sit in the gym, learning about how they can help make a difference for our building campaign!

Club Partners with A.S.A.P.
Recently the Club has partnered with Catherine Kelly and the Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention, also known as A.S.A.P., to provide some unique opportunities for our Club members, specifically our teens. Most recently, a grant from A.S.A.P. helped spice up one of our Teen Nights by offering a "Taco Bar" here at the Club, which was extremely popular.
Next weekend, Club members will travel to Gillette Stadium to see the UMass Minutemen football team take on Akron in their last home game of the season. Big thank you to UMass for providing tickets and to A.S.A.P. for helping with travel costs!
