3rd Annual Community Fall BBQ!!

After selling out for the past two years, we are so excited for our 3rd Annual Community Fall BBQ! We will again be offering a BBQ buffet dinner- with some exciting additions this year. Following the dinner, Nantucket's own DJ Bri Guy will entertain us throughout the evening with great music and karaoke.

For you Cornhole players, we are bringing back the Cornhole Tournament! If you would like to register early, please email Justine or call the Club. Entry fee for this year's tournament will be $40 per team. Registration will end at 5:30pm the night of the event.

Don't forget- the past two year's have sold out! Don't miss out on the best party of the fall!

If you would like to volunteer during the event or break down after, please sign up at the front desk, here at the Club.

Spanish Club a Huge Success

With the help of parent volunteers and our older Club members, our Spanish Club has become extremely popular. The Spanish Club introduces the Spanish language to members while also familiarizing them more with Latin American culture. It has also been helpful for our members whose primary language is Spanish, aiding in their learning of English. The Club meets twice a week, Wednesday's and Friday's at 4:00pm in the Learning Center.

We are proud to announce the 1st Annual Whitlock Writing Contest. Starting this year, Club members will have a chance to enter an essay writing contest- with a $100.00 prize! Registered Club members will be given the opportunity to write and submit an essay, no less than 250 words, by the May 1, 2014. After all essays have been reviewed, the winner will be announced at our annual awards night.

This year's writing theme: "What does the Boys & Girls Club mean to me?"

Fall Sports Season Opens Strong

The fall sports season has started off with a bang. On September 18th the NBGC travel football team opened its season against cross island rival Martha's Vineyard. After falling behind 14-8 in the first half the NBGC dominated the second, finishing with a 36-14 victory. In the second game of the season the NBGC traveled to Mashpee. This turned into a track meet with the NBGC coming up just short, 46-42.

With high numbers and competitive games in both the DII and DIII football divisions along with record breaking numbers of girls participating in field hockey and cheerleading, the 2013 fall sports season has been great so far!

Thank you to all of our volunteer coaches and referees!
