Are You Commiting Musical Suicide?

If you are not responding to your fans, you are commiting musical suicide
Hey (Contact First Name) KBJ_Records_Artist_Sponsorship

Kelvin here at your service.  My mission is to help the regular everyday "working-class" musician and I have been at it for quite a while.  Surprisingly, the one thing that I have found out is that when I reach out to musicians on their websites and social networks, they don't respond back.  And no, I'm not trying to sell them services as you might believe.  We're talking about regular compliments and genuine fan praises.

Here is how it happens:

I'll read a post from an artist that I find interesting, I'll go to that artists website or social networks and I'll listen to their music.  Sometimes I really like the music so I will message them and compliment them on their talent.  I might even ask them a question or two about their music.  Do you know what happens next?  Yep, you guessed it, NOTHING!  I get no response from them.  I'll contact them up to two or three more times and get the same result.  What's up with that?

Music Career Suicide!!!

If you are not responding to me, you probably aren't responding to other potential fans and vip people and therefore missing out on potential networking opportunities.  If you are not responding to your fans you might as well murder your dreams right now and save yourself the time.  Unless you already have millions of fans buying your music, you cannot afford to ignore your fans.  People may fall in love with your music first, but they fall in love with you second.  If you ignore them, they will ignore you, and you are then promoting your music for nothing.

Closing:

Don't shoot your music career in the head.  Don't ignore your fans - plain and simple.  When you ignore your fans they feel like you only care about yourself and you don't think about them untill you need something from them.  Even if you give them a very late response, give them a response nontheless.  Even if you can only respond once a year, respond nontheless.

You are already promoting your music online anyway.  You might as well get rewarded for it.
