And don't forget to pray for me. Pray that I'll know what to say and have the courage to say it at the right time, telling the mystery to one and all, the Message that I, jailbird preacher that I am, am responsible for getting out.

                                       Ephesians 6:19-20

I think I can relate to Paul. Though I am not a jailbird (miraculously), I think I can understand what Paul is trying to say in this passage to the church in Ephesus. What a great honor and responsibility he must have felt as he labored to help others understand the awesome truth of the gospel. Paul knew his calling...and so do I.

My call to share Jesus is just as loud and clear as ever, if not more so. Though my circumstances are different, I still feel compelled to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel." (Mark 16:15) I know that I have to go. There is no question in my mind about that. And as I have resolved to continue to fulfill this call, God continues to open doors of opportunity.

Leslie, Kaytie and me in India

I am so glad that God has thrown open the doors for me to partner with my dear friends, Lance and Kaytie Fiedler, as well as some others that will be part of a growing ministry. All of this is exciting  and scary, as are most new things, but we all believe that God is leading us and we know He will create opportunities for people to hear about His great plan of redemption through our words and actions. Some of my new responsibilities will be:

  • Development of international ministry partnerships
  • Building a continuum of care for each partner to encourage healthy ministries and ministers
  • Leading mission teams abroad
  • Development of an intern/missions training program for missions minded people.

I will continue to be responsible for my monthly support, as well as upcoming ministry opportunities and ongoing support of projects to which Love Through Me is committed.

I've wondered (ok, I'll be honest, I've worried) so many times about finances. Would people continue to support me in the ministry God has called me to even though I have returned to the US? How often will I need to travel in order to make sure people continue to think of me as a "real" missionary and worthy of monthly support? Many times I have worn myself out with these questions...and never found any answers other than the Holy Spirit whispering "Trust me." So that is what I continue to do strive for- a heart that trusts God day by day, moment by moment.

I am planning to return to South Asia in July to minister again to those working in the red light districts. Please pray with me that all needed resources will be available. Until then, I will be ministering where the Lord opens doors right here at home...or wherever He may allow. Last, but definitely not least, I will be busy working to obtain non-profit status for Kt Ministries. Though this is not what I love about ministry, it is important!

Thank you for your continued support through all of these transitions. God is at work and, just like any other construction project, it looks messy until the work is finished and the end result is seen. I believe that God has a great plan!

Still going for Him,

Stephanie
