THE UNTOUCHABLES
THE UNTOUCHABLES
OF INDIA

Hello from South Asia! We have been here for about two weeks now, staying with our friends at Luke's Lighthouse for Children. What a joy it has been to get to meet the kids and to spend time with our "family"here. We've been showered with hugs and kisses everyday and enjoyed lots of dance performances. The kids are adjusting to their new home very well for the most part. The  older children, of course, have struggled more than the younger, but God is doing a good work through His faithful servants Prasad and Mary.

We have also had opportunity to visit other ministry opportunities that Prasad and Mary are involved in. We walked through a slum area near their home a few days ago, praying as we went for anyone who asked. Desperate people are the only ones open to God.  This is true in every country and every culture. There were many desperate people in the slum that day-those with disease, handicaps, poverty, family problems- all problems that Jesus can fix!

We prayed for a little girl who was unable to speak except to mumble her name. We later rreceived word that she is now speaking much more! We are trusting God to complete this work in her. We also prayed for a man with a knee problem. He also was healed. Praise God!!!

We visited a very remote area several hours away to share hope with a tribal group that Prasad is ministering to, in conjunction with a local church. These people live far away from everyone on the top of a mountain. They have no medical assistance in  the area and the trails to the top of the hill are almost impassable by vehicle. It was so good to share the Good News with them, as well as provide some food and other necessities, such as clothes and blankets.

We were also blessed to have a few days with our friend, Philip Yeluri, and his family and church family. God really touched hearts and gave  direction to many people as we shared about God's plan to use His people, simple as they may be, to reach the lost  and destitute. Many shared testimony of how God spoke to their hearts about a particular people group such as widows,  orphans, and handicapped people. The church is now praying and planning to begin new outreaches to those in desperate need.

Tomorrow we will be leaving here to go to another state, where we will continue teaching Love in Action conferences. This type of teaching is very draining physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The conferences will be held daily, so we will really need stamina to share in the power of the Spirit every day for the eleven days we will be there. This type of teaching seems to be very effective, culturally speaking. Though the concepts are very basic Gospel principles, the teaching seems to be new information for so many. Please pray that God will use this teaching to reach the lost masses of this country. They so desperately need to hear about Jesus! The darkness is intense here. This makes the light very precious!

Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support. God is at work in many difficult places around the world. As we partner together, the father heart of God is being revealed to multitudes which are ready to know Him. Many are ripe for harvest! We can see them as we lift up our eyes to the fields.

Going for Him,

Stephanie and Leslie
