Greetings!
Hello from Texas! We arrived back in the Lone Star State on April 5th and have been enjoying a little bit of down time and some great fellowship with friends and family. We are currently in the San Antonio area with our friends from Christ Community Church. We are feeling the love of the body of Christ and know that we are very blessed to have people around us that care about us and have made a plan to help us rest and be restored. We are truly thankful for God's provision!
The first order of business upon our return was for me (Stephanie) to see a doctor. The diagnosis I received was that somewhere along the line, I have begun to play hostess to parasites. These unwanted house guests have wreaked havoc, but, thankfully, can be evicted. The prognosis for full recovery of health is good. I am thankful that the problem is treatable and I am looking forward to feeling better soon. Thank you all so much for your prayers!
Many people have asked us what we are planning to do next. What a great question! It seems really weird to not have an answer. At this point, the one thing we know is that God has us right where we are for a season. We are watchful and waiting for God to reveal his plan for the next steps. Until then, we will wait and trust that what we are doing now- restoration of bodies, minds, and spirits, is not a waste of time but rather preparation for the next assignment. God has not in any way indicated that we are finished as missionaries. Neither of us feels like we are to return to life as it was prior to being on the mission field. We both want to continue to serve God and serve others in every way that the Father would lead.
We know that God's timing is perfect...no question about that. Our timing, however, can be off. Both of us want to move in sync with the Holy Spirit and not get ahead of God because we need to "do something". Please pray with us that we won't try to create the "next thing", but that we will wait patiently on God.
As always, our hearts are being drawn to South Asia. We are hoping to visit Luke's Lighthouse for Children very soon, but this is contingent on physical strength for Stephanie, as well as a few other factors. If the Lord opens all the doors, we hope to spend some time with our friends there this summer. This will be an awesome opportunity for encouragement of our brothers and sisters, getting to know the new residents of the children's home, and sharing the gospel with unreached people groups in the region.
Thank you for your continued support of the outreaches of Love Through Me. God is at work and your generosity is making His love tangible to suffering people around the world.
Still going for Him,
Stephanie and Leslie
