The Islamic Shura Council is pleased to announce that its former Chairman, Dr. Maher Hathout, will receive the "2014 Lifetime Service" award.

 

"Dr. Hathout's selfless service to the Muslim community and the society at large is a benchmark for everyone in public service. On behalf of the Islamic Shura Council and also on behalf of Muslim communities, I thank Dr. Hathout and his family for their dedication and sacrifices for the good of others," said Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, Chairman of the Islamic Shura Council. 

 

"I invite the community to join me and Dr. Hathout at the Shura Council annual banquet on Saturday March 1st to celebrate Dr. Hathout's life long body of work and be inspired," Dr. Siddiqi added. 

 

About a year ago, Dr. Hathout spoke about the Prophet's leadership at the Shura Council's 2013 annual conference and has also authored several books including, In Pursuit of Justice. Dr. Hathout has served the Islamic Center of Southern California and serves as Sr. Advisor of the Muslim Public Affairs Council.
