The Islamic Shura Council welcomes the election of Dr. Ahmed Soboh of Chino Valley Islamic Center and Br. Hafez Hafez, a board member of CAIR-Los Angeles to its Majlis. We also congratulate the new officers - Shaykh Taha Hassane of the Islamic Center of San Diego as Vice Chairman and Imam Jihad Saafir of Masjid Ibaadillah as Secretary who will serve the Majlis of the Islamic Shura Council along with Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi as its Chairman. The Islamic Shura Council deeply appreciates Dr. Ahmed Azam of the Islamic Center of Hawthorne and Br. Samer Soubra of Masjid Omar al-Farouk, the two outgoing Majlis members for their myriad contributions to the Shura Council in particular and the community in general. The Islamic Shura Council invites the community to its first ever symposium about the status of California Jails on Saturday Nov 9th. Muslim Chaplains, Volunteers, former inmates and prison officials from the Federal, California State and Orange County Jails will share their unique experiences of working together and restoring lives.
