Dear AmeriCorps Team,
Happy 2013! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and I know we are all happy to be back at work. I would love to hear from everyone about how their year is going - inspiring stories from your site, funny anecdotes from home - and this newsletter is a forum through which to share that news with your teammates. Paula's Happy News

As many of you have come to learn, Paula Enciso is pregnant! Now in her sixth month, Paula just learned that she and her husband Daniel are having a little boy. Her little girl Nataly Sofia is excited about the new addition to the family, but not excited about the prospect of having to share a room. Paula can't wait to meet her son: "I am so excited! I can't wait for the little half-AmeriCorps member to be born."

Thanks to the small nature of our state, many of our Ready to Learn team members' children attend child-care centers where fellow members work.

Congratulations to Jess Johns on becoming the legal guardian of her two precious nieces, Alanah and Nataya.
The girls - ages 5 and 6 - were expected to move to New York City just in time to celebrate Christmas in their new home. Jess and her longtime boyfriend Joe are looking forward to building a family (and reading plenty of great books!) with the girls.
Jess was a member of our first AmeriCorps team - 2005/2006. After her year of service, she worked at Ready to Learn for two years in the data department. She now works in book publishing as a consultant and conference planner.

Feliz 2013! Espero que todos hayan tenido unas felices fiestas y espero que todos estemos contentos en volver a nuestros trabajos. Como muchos de ustedes han venido observando, Paula Enciso está embarazada. Tiene un poco más de cinco meses de embarazo, Paula ya sabe el sexo de su bebe, ¡es un niño!
Su niña Nataly Sofía está muy entusiasmada con su nuevo miembro de la familia (su hermanito), aunque no esta muy contenta por la perspectiva de tener que compartir su habitación.

Los Niños de R2LP
Dado el tamaño pequeño de nuestro estado, la mayoría de nuestros niños están "listos para aprender". Algunos compañeros de AmeriCorps, tienen sus hijos en Centros de cuidado infantil, donde otros compañeros del grupo prestan su servicio y les corresponde cuidar a los niños de sus estos.

Felicitaciones a Jess Johns por convertirse en el tutor legal de sus dos sobrinas preciosas, Alanah y Nataya. Las niñas de 5 y 6 años. Probablemente se deba desplazar a Nueva York y estar a tiempo para celebrar la Navidad en su nuevo hogar.
Jess y su antiguo novio Joe, tienen unos deseos enormes en formar una nueva familia con las chicas.
Jess fue uno de los primeros miembros en pertenecer a nuestro equipo de AmeriCorps (2005/2006).Después de su año de servicio, trabajó en Ready to Learn durante dos años en el departamento de datos. Ahora trabaja en edición de libros como asesor y organizador de conferencias.
