Important Message from the Health Office!
Policy for All Students Going Home Sick
Any student who becomes ill during the school day must go through the Nurse's Office to be released home.  Parents will be called from the Nurse's Office by both the student and the School Nurse.  Texting or calling parents to leave the building without School Nurse permission will result in an unexcused absence.
The School Nurse will not diagnose nor prescribe medication for any illness.  This is the responsibility of the family physician.

SENIOR CLASS OF 2017
New state regulations for the meningitis vaccine requires all students entering 12th grade must show proof of receiving two doses of Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV4).  If the first dose is administered when the child is 16 years of age or older, then only one dose is required. Please make sure your senior student's vaccines are up to date and submitted to the nurse's office by Monday, August 1, 2016. LFHS has a first day exclusion policy for lack of immunizations.  For further information contact the Health Office, Diane Bower R.N.  [email protected].

INCOMING FRESHMAN PARENTS

FRESHMAN CLASS OF 2020
LFHS has a first day exclusion policy for lack of immunizations and physical exams for freshman.  We strongly urge all freshman physicals to be turned into the HEALTH OFFICE by Monday, August 1, 2016.  DO NOT TURN INCOMING FRESHMAN PHYSICALS INTO THE ATHLETIC OFFICE.  The Health Office will forward a list of all compliant students to the Athletic Office in time for the first day of sports on August 8th.  For further information contact the Health Office, Diane Bower R.N. [email protected]
Fax 847-810-1399

ALL STUDENTS

Reminder!  When scheduling your child's physical over the summer, be sure to take along a copy of the Medication Authorization Form for the physician to sign.  This form must be turned in annually and is necessary if you anticipate your child will need any prescription or non-prescription medication (e.g. aspirin, Tylenol, Ibuprofen) during the school day.  No medication may be dispensed without this authorization on file.

The District's health forms are available in a few different areas.

2.  InfoSnap - During on the online registration process, the health forms are made available for download on the Medical page and Medical Documents page.

LFHS Partnership - Volunteer Tutors Needed

With changes to the LFHS school-day for the 2016-17 school year, we have an opportunity to expand our academic supports for students before and after-school. The LFHS administration is reaching out to interested community volunteers to support the tutoring work in our Resource Centers. If you have experience tutoring students or a degree in a specific content area, are a retired teacher/educator, or college student looking to acquire experience or fulfill hours for teaching credentials, this is a great community volunteer opportunity.  Learn more and complete the LFHS Partnership Survey.

Screens for Teens to be Held Monday,
August 29!

Every year thousands of seemingly healthy young adults die from hidden heart conditions leaving behind heartbroken families, friends, and communities. Max Schewitz appeared to be a fit and healthy 20-year-old the day he collapsed and died from a hidden heart problem. After such tragedies, people ask "Isn't there a way to find these kids before they collapse and die?" An EKG test can help!  Learn more and register!

Testing will be on Monday, August 29.
7:45am - 3:15 pm

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are in need of many volunteers. You can volunteer to work the early shift, the later shift, or all day. Preference will be given to all day volunteers and previous trained volunteers. There are positions for everyone. A brief training session will be held on either Sunday evening or Monday morning. We ask you to attend the mini training session to review everything but there will still be administrative positions where no training is required. Please note your training preference on the volunteer link. New from last time - all pre-registered students' information will populate on the computer so there is no need for additional data entry.
