M-A Families of Seniors
Diploma Request Forms On Monday, Feb. 8, Seniors at M-A will receive their Diploma Request Forms from their English teacher. This form is important for three reasons. - The form gives students one last chance to make any changes to how their name will appear on their diploma.
- The form also allows students to write down exactly how they would like their name read at graduation.
- The form gives students an opportunity to ask a staff member who has impacted them in a positive way at some point in their time at M-A to hand them their diploma at graduation.
Important Dates - Wednesday, Feb. 10: students can start asking staff members to hand them their diploma.
- Friday, November 19 at 4:00 pm: Diploma Request Forms are due to Noemy Menjivar in the AVP office.
We encourage students to think carefully about a staff member who has made a positive impact on them, and to reflect on coaches, administrative staff, Instructional Aides, and teachers from as far back as freshmen year. If a student does not select a staff member, the Principal, Ms. Kennel, will be handing the student their diploma. Please also keep in mind that if a student wants to change how their name will appear on the diploma after February 19, there will be a $50 charge as we will have to order a new diploma. Cap and Gown Order Forms M-A will be ordering caps and gowns for all students. Students should have already filled out a Cap and Gown Order Form and turned it into B-20. If they have not completed this form, they should go to B-20 as soon as possible. Per state law, we do not sell caps and gowns anymore but rather provide them to all students. Students will be able to keep their cap and tassel; however, the gown will need to be returned after the ceremony. If your students have any questions, they should see Mike Amoroso in B-20. Gentle Reminder Finally, we want to take a minute to remind all Seniors and their families to finish strong. Students should pay careful attention to the grades they are earning in all classes so as not to have a painful episode of senioritis. It is important that students pass all classes necessary to graduate and to maintain their grades necessary for college admissions. Please also have a conversation with your Senior about making good choices as they finish out the last semester of their high school career. We don't want seniors to get carried away with a senior prank, or with missing too much class, or with having too much fun to the point where they get in trouble for doing something they should not being doing. We want all seniors to enjoy their last semester and the excitement of graduating high school, but we also want seniors to be safe and respectful towards the school, themselves, the graduation process, and of course their families.

Stanford Comes to M-A to Talk Sleep
M-A continues its long-standing Teen Sleep Program when students from Stanford's "Sleep and Dreams" class visit M-A on Tuesday, February 23 to present facts about teen sleep to freshmen. Volunteer M-A juniors act as ambassadors to the Stanford visitors that day. The M-A juniors travel to Stanford's Sleep Center for a lecture and tour, then attend a Stanford's "Sleep and Dreams" class on February 17. Finally, the ambassadors will create a sleep info program for Feel Good Friday, March 11. Ask your freshman student about it. Did you know the typical teen needs 9 hours of sleep a night?!

Parking Control
This message is a reminder (from the letter sent to all families in August 2015) that the CHP will be ticketing cars parked in no parking / stopping zones on Ringwood during drop-off and pick-up times and during athletic / school events. We highly encourage carpooling, biking, walking or taking Samtrans to school and recommend dropping off and picking up in one of our parking lots or in a safe, agreed upon location if you want to avoid the main parking lot traffic. Additionally, please don't park or circle through the Menlo Oaks neighborhood. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. |

SAT May 7 Spring Review Classes
Deadline Approaching
We are continuing to accept applications for the SAT review classes for the May 7 SAT exam. You will find the application and additional information here. Our deadline is February 17. Valentines Blood Drive
The Valentines' Blood Drive is on Thursday, February 11 from 9 am to 2 pm in the new gym. All parents, students, and teachers are welcome to attend! Just one blood donation can help save four premature babies! All blood donations will go to hospitals in the local area. Sweet treats and candy provided for all who donate! Sign-ups are available daily on the Green at lunch. Students must be 17 or older to donate, or 16 with a parent's permission. See you there!

This Valentine's Day, have a rose and personal note delivered your student/s and favorite M-A staff members during class! The profits go to the AVID program and help fund training, classroom supplies, and college field trips for AVID students.
From February 1, the price is $5 per rose. For every five roses purchased, you get one more free. To order roses, download and complete the form (one form per rose recipient please), then email it to Rachel Andres at randres@seq.org or deliver to Rachel Andres' mailbox. Hard copies of the form are also available in the front office. For Sophmores
Counselors are meeting with sophomores to register for the 2016-17 academic year. We will be giving students a copy of their transcript and a yellow sheet to review proposed classes with parents/guardians and obtain parent/guardian signatures. Sophomores may also receive other informational handouts. Please be aware that sophomores should be sharing the Course Selection form with parents/guardians this week. All students enrolling in any Advanced Placement (A.P.) course for the 2016-17 school year must have a completed A.P. disclosure form on file no later than May 20, 2016. The link to the A.P. In case you missed her visit to M-A last November, Maria Furtado, Executive Director of Colleges That Changes Lives (CTCL) is returning to our district at Sequoia High School on Feb. 18 to speak to students and parents about navigating the college search in her talk "Finding the Right Fit." M-A students and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend this engaging and informative presentation at Sequoia High School.

Grade 10 and 11 students and parents are invited to attend College Admission Tests Information Night on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the PAC. Bruce Reed, an expert on admissions testing and from Compass Education Group, will be presenting information on the SAT, ACT, and Subject Tests. This is an opportunity to learn more about these tests, their differences, sensible approaches to college admissions testing, and colleges' evolving policies around the use of test scores.
PSAT Scores are available now online at https://studentscores.collegeboard.org. Creating an account here should give you access to your scores and much more. If for some reason you are not able to log in, try refreshing the page and/or logging in and out (this may take a few times). If you log in and are not able to see your scores, select "Add Scores" and verify personal information to access your scores. The 17th District has just announced the results from the district-wide Reflections judging, and M-A has three entries advancing to State competition. The winners are as follows:
- Amrita Bhasin for her film Flights of the Mind received the Award of Excellence
- Amrita Bhasin for her story "Universe in a Bottle" received the Award of Excellence
- Lauren Koenig for her photo "Waiting" received the Award of Merit
- Jerry Liu for his music composition "Dancing with Chopin" received the Award of Excellence
- Ninarose Roybal for her painting "When I Grow Up" received an Honorable Mention
Those winners given the Award of Excellence will be advancing to State competition. Congratulation to all of our talented artists!

M-A Drama Presents "Into the Woods"
Showing at the Performing Arts Center on February 26-27 and March 3-5, Into the Woods takes the audience on a musical adventure featuring favorite familiar characters in a lyrically rich re-telling of classic Brothers Grimm fables. Curses, quests, romance, and surprises abound in these woods. Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine.
$14 for adults, $10 for students/seniors

California Scholarship Federation (CSF) Week
February 22 - 26!
What is CSF and how does my student qualify?
California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a program that promotes and recognizes students with above-average grades. In order to become a member, the student must submit an application each semester he or she is eligible. A point system specified in the CSF state by-laws establishes the membership requirements. Benefits for life or 100% members (seal bearers) include recognition at M-A Senior Awards Night and in the M-A Graduation Program, a Federation chapter seal on diploma along with a certificate cover, a CSF tassel, cord with medallion and a CSF pin. Applications and course lists are available on the M-A CSF webpage. From Monday, February 22 through Friday, February 26 students should turn in their application during lunch in front of the Green/Library. This application process is for Fall 2015 grades. The submitted application packet must include: - Completed CSF application
- $5 application fee in cash or check made payable to M-A High School
- Copy of the previous semester's report card or transcript. (A copy of a transcript can be printed from your students Infinite Campus Account.) Sign in and select Reports beneath your student's name. DO NOT GO TO THE GUIDANCE OFFICE FOR YOUR TRANSCRIPT!
The application requires a minimum of 10 points from 2015 Fall grades. A's =3 CSF points B's = 2 CSF points AP or AS A's = 4 CSF points * AP or AS B's = 3 CSF points* (AP or AS classes earn and extra point) or if you'd like to volunteer to help collect applications in February.

Boys Varsity Basketball
The M-A Bear Boys won both league games this past week to extend their record to 10-0 league and 20-2 overall. The team meets second place rival Burlingame on Tuesday at 5:30 at M-A with the league title at stake. Come out and cheer the Bears on!
In a Wednesday night matchup between the 8-0 M-A Bears and the 4-4 Hillsdale Fighting Nights, the Bears won 63-47 and continued to stay undefeated in a game that was closer than the final score indicated. M-A used the usual fast paced offense and a number of steals to race to a 34-18 halftime lead, as Christian Fioretti, Eric Norton and Reed Fratt led the Bears. Hillsdale got within 6 points in the second half as they heated up from 3 point range, hitting 6 3's. M-A pulled away with some late steals and free throws, which led to the final margin of victory. Christian Fioretti led the Bears with 20 points. Norton was close behind with 19 points and had 3 steals. Kai Winterling had 7, and Fratt and Raymond Fowler each had 6 points and 4 rebounds. Lucas Fioretti had 5 points and 5 assists.
On Senior Night at Menlo-Atherton High School on Friday night, in a rematch between the M-A Bears and the Carlmont Scots, the Bears led wire to wire to win 69-55. M-A used a balanced scoring attack and a lock-down trapping defense to race to gain a 35-24 half time advantage. M-A's three guards Lucas Fioretti, Christian Fioretti and Norton led the Bears in first half scoring. The Scots stayed within striking distance in the second half but M-A, led by Blake Henry and Bradley Stillman, extended M-A's lead and closed out Carlmont by 14 points. For the Bears, Christian Fioretti had 16 points and 4 assists while brother Lucas Fioretti had 11 points and 7 steals. Henry and Norton each had 10 points while Stillman had 6 and Tim Andersen chipped in 5 while Fowler had 4 points and 3 boards. Henry had 4 rebounds.
Boys Varsity Soccer
M-A Boys Varsity Soccer completed this week with a 0-0 tie against Hillsdale, playing down a man when Jean Claverie was given a red card early in the hostile game. On Friday, they tied Sequoia 1-1. Sequoia scored on a direct kick in the second half, but M-A responded with a through ball from Jake Simon to Nick Jandeleit, who finished his goal to tie the game. Come out for Senior Day next Wednesday versus South San Francisco for their last home game of the season.
Girls Varsity Basketball
On Tuesday, M-A hosted Hillsdale in a battle between the two PAL South undefeated co-leaders. Hillsdale came out hot in the first half hitting six 3 pointers. The Bears Ofa Sili kept M-A in the game with 10 first half points. Freshman Mele Kailahi hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to pull the Bears within 9 points. Nonetheless the Bears found themselves trailing at the half for the first time in almost two months. The second half was a different story. Coach Coleman righted her team and M-A dominated. Megan Sparrow got the Bears going with a 3 pointer on the opening possession. Kailahi hit another three 3 pointers to lead all scorers with 16 points. Ilana Baer scored 10 and added three steals as the Bears exploded for 42 second half points while holding Hillsdale to just 5 points. With the 65-35 victory, M-A took sole possession of first place in the PAL South.
On Friday prior to the Carlmont game, the Bears honored their four Seniors and they responded on the court. Annalisa Crowe, Jaimie Kirkpatrick and Delilah Kline all hit three pointers while Sally Carlson scored from the line and added four assists and six rebounds. M-A was led by Sili and Greer Hoyem who each scored 12. The Bears defense held the Scots to 10 second half points. Baer and Sparrow each had four steals as the Bears cruised to a 58-32 victory. With the win M-A extends its winning streak to 17 games. This week the Bears set out to finish their league season undefeated with road games on Tuesday at 5:30 at Burlingame High School and Thursday at 6:15 at Woodside.
Girls JV Basketball
The M-A Girls JV basketball team played Hillsdale High School on Wednesday and won handily with a score of 48-22. Lots of scoring spread around with two players in double digits. Lottie Plewman and Emilie Meuller had the game high scores of 14 and 12 points, respectively. Makenzie Hazard had 8 points, Maddie King and Emily Roberts had 6 points each and Ashley Tiznado scored 2 points.
Friday was Senior Night and the M-A Basketball players and coaches prepared a presentation to celebrate our graduating seniors. The JV Girls started off the Quad game against Carlmont High School. They added to their win column with a score of 38-27, putting them at 8 wins and 1 loss in the PAL League and 16 wins and 5 losses for the season. The high score of the game came from King with 13 points. Other contributors to the win were Roberts and Tiznado scoring 6 points each, Hazard and Plewman with 4 points each, Oron Estes scored 3 points and Meuller scored 2 points. Come out to cheer at our final two games: Wednesday at 4 pm against Burlingame High School and Friday at 3:15 against Woodside High School.
Girls Varsity Soccer
The M-A Bears redeemed themselves against the Carlmont Scots with a 3-2 win at M-A. In the first half, junior Katie Guenin crossed the ball from the deep right goal line to senior Sarah McLeod, who drilled the ball into the net. Consistent mid-field play by McLeod, senior Molly Briggs, juniors Alissa McNerney, Nicole Salz, and Margaret Child and defenders Kasey Love (senior), Allison Galbraith (junior), Grace Brieger (sophomore), and Ally Sivilotti (junior) kept the Scots from many shots on goalkeeper Breanna Sandoval. Guenin energized the second half with a goal in the first few minutes of play, following a long ball pass by sophomore Josephine Cotto, which Guenin dribbled up the field, outran the defenders and scored. After a foul on McLeod, she rebounded on a beautiful direct kick, making the score 3-1. An unfortunate hand ball in the box resulted in a penalty kick for the Scots in the second half, but the Bears remained dominant to the end and held the score to 3-2.
M-A Bears tied Burlingame 3-3 on Thursday. The Bears spent most of the first half on defense with sophomore goalkeeper Breanna Sandoval deflecting several corners and shots on goal with the help of strong defense by Love, Galbraith, Sivilotti and Brieger, who allowed only one goal by halftime. The Bears turned it on in the second half after Guenin broke away and tore up the field to pass to Cotto, who crossed to senior Talia Missan for the goal. Cotto returned the favor, sending the ball to Child for the assist to Guenin, who shot the second goal, tying the score at 2-2. A corner kick by the Panthers was converted into a goal late in the second half, but the Bears kept pressing. With a minute to goal, Guenin drilled a cross from the deep right field to Cotto, who headed it into the net for a thrilling 3-3 tie. M-A league 6-2-2, overall 8-4-2.
At the San Mateo dual meet this past week, the varsity team competing against San Mateo High School. The team defeated San Mateo 48-24.

The My Life Community Service Squad is asking for donations to help the homeless around the community. Please bring any unused, unopened toiletries to the Student Support Center, B-20, from now until February 29. Toiletries include: toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, soap, feminine hygiene products, razors, and shaving cream. These donations go towards making sure that the underrepresented members in the community are able to keep basic hygiene.

Cañada Middle College High School
A Great Way to Get a Head Start on Your College Degree!
Cañada Middle College is a unique opportunity for juniors and seniors from the Sequoia Union High School District to experience an exciting alternative to the traditional high school setting. Middle College High School classes are taught by Sequoia Union High School District teachers on the campus of Cañada College. Students also take 3-5 college classes each semester. These college level transfer courses appear on both their high school and college transcripts.
This month we will be celebrating our students who qualified for the Cañada College Dean's List during the fall. Cañada Middle College traditionally has one of the highest percentages of students on the Dean's List out of any group or organization on campus. Our honorees will receive their certificates from the President of Cañada College in a ceremony later this month.

Familias de Alumnos del Grado Doce de M-A
Formulario para Petición de Diploma
A partir de la semana que entra los alumnos del grado doce de M-A recibirán su formulario para Petición de Diploma distribuido por sus maestro/a de Ingles. Este formulario es importante por tres razones.
- El formulario le da una última oportunidad a los alumnos para hacer cambios en cómo sus nombres aparecerán en su diploma.
- Este formulario también permite a los alumnos escribir la forma precisa de pronunciar su nombre en la graduación.
- Este formulario le da la oportunidad al alumno de pedirle a un miembro del personal que lo haya impactado de una manera positiva durante algún punto de su vida mientras estaba en M-A que le haga entrega de su diploma.
Fechas Importantes
- Miércoles, 10 de febrero: Los alumnos pueden pedirle al miembro de la escuela que le entregue su diploma.
- Viernes, 19 de noviembre a las 4:00 p.m.: Los formularios de petición de diploma se deben entregar a Noemy Menjivar en la oficina de AVP.
Animamos a los alumnos que piensen cuidadosamente en qué miembro del personal los haya impactado de una manera positiva, y que mediten en personas como entrenadores, personal administrativo, ayudantes de maestros, y maestros desde el grado 9. Si un alumno no escoge a un miembro del personal, la directora, Sra. Kennel, le entregara su diploma. También, tomen en cuenta que si el alumno quiere cambiar la forma en que va aparecer su nombre en su diploma después del 19 de febrero, habrá un cargo de $50 pues tendremos que ordenar un diploma nuevo.

M-A estará ordenando gorras y capas de graduación para todos los alumnos. Los alumnos ya deberían haber llenado un formulario para ordenar su gorra y capa de graduación y haberlo entregado en salón B-20. Si aún no han completado este formulario, deben ir al salón B-20 lo más pronto posible. Los alumnos podrán quedarse con su gorra y fleco; sin embargo, la capa tendrá que regresarse después de la ceremonia. Debido a la ley estatal, no podemos vender las gorras y capas de graduación, se deben proveer a todos los alumnos. Si su alumno tiene alguna pregunta deben ir a ver a Mike Amoroso en el salón B-20.
Recordatorio Finalmente, queremos recordarles a los alumnos del grado 12 y sus familias que terminen el año con éxito. Los alumnos deben prestar atención cuidadosa a las calificaciones que estén obteniendo para que no tengan un episodio duro de "senioritis" (termino que se aplica cuando no hacen su trabajo y obtienen malas calificaciones debido a que aflojan el paso). Es muy importante que todos los alumnos pasen sus clases necesarias para graduarse y mantener las calificaciones necesarias para ser admitidos a la universidad. También tenga una conversación con su alumno sobre el tomar buenas decisiones mientras terminan el último semestre de su carrera de la preparatoria. No queremos que se dejen llevar por una travesura de fin de año, de faltar mucho a las clases, o por divertirse tanto que se metan en problemas al haber hecho algo que no deberían haber hecho. Queremos que todos los alumnos del grado 12 disfruten de su último semestre y del graduarse de la escuela pero, también, queremos que los alumnos del grado 12 estén seguros, y que respeten la escuela, a ellos mismos, all proceso de graduación y, por supuesto, a sus familias.

Stanford viene a M-A para hablar del sueño
M-A continua con su Programa del Sueño en Adolescentes ya largamente establecido cuando el Martes, 23 de febrero los estudiantes de la clase "El dormir y los sueños" de Stanford visiten M-A para presentar datos acerca del sueño en adolescentes a los estudiantes de grado 9. Voluntarios del grado 11 de M-A actuarán como embajadores para los visitantes de Stanford ese día. Los estudiantes de grado 11 irán en excursión al Centro del Sueño de Stanford para una conferencia y un tour y luego asistirán a la clase "Sleep and Dreams" (El dormir y los sueños) el 17 de febrero . Finalmente, los embajadores crearán un Programa informativo sobre el sueño para el viernes del bienestar 11de marzo (Feel Good). Pregúntele a su estudiante de noveno grado acerca de esta información.¿Sabía usted que el adolescente típico necesita 9 horas de sueño cada noche?

Control de Estacionamiento
Este es un recordatorio (de la carta que se mando a todas las familias en agosto del 2015) que el CHP (California Highway Patrol) estará dando infracciones a los carros que estén estacionados en la zona donde no se permite estacionar/parar en la calle Ringwood durante las horas de dejar o recoger a los alumnos/ durante los eventos atléticos. Si quiere evitar la congestacion en el estacionamiento de la escuela, los animamos a hacer carpool, andar en bicicleta, caminar o tomar Samtrans a la escuela y recomendamos que deje y recoja a sus alumnos en uno de nuestros estacionamientos o en un lugar que este seguro y en el cual ya hayan acordado encontrarse. Adicionalmente, le rogamos el favor de no estacionarse y manejar por el vecindario Menlo Oaks. Muchas gracias de antemano por su cooperación.

Seguimos recibiendo solicitudes para las clases de repaso para el examen SAT del 7 de mayo. Puede encontrar la solicitud e información adicional aquí. Nuestra fecha límite es el 17 de febrero. Continuaremos aceptando solicitudes después de esa fecha sólo si todavía hay espacio en nuestras clases de repaso. La primera clase será el lunes 29 de febrero. Los consejeros se están reuniendo con los estudiantes del décimo grado para el año académico 2016-17. Les proporcionaremos a los estudiantes una copia de su expediente académico y una hoja amarilla para que revisen las clases propuestas con sus padres/guardianes y obtener la firma de sus padres/guardianes. Los estudiantes del décimo grado también pueden recibir otras hojas informativas. Por favor estén al tanto de que los estudiantes del décimo grado deben compartir el formulario de Selección de Clases con sus padres/guardianes esta semana.
Todos los estudiantes que se van matricular en una clase de posición académica avanzada (A.P.) para el año académica 2016-17 deben tener el formulario Divulgación AP completado y archivado a más tardar el 20 de mayo del 2016. En caso de que usted no hubiese podido asistir a su previa visita a M-A, Maria Furtado, Directora Ejecutiva de Colleges That Changes Lives (CTCL) (universidades que cambian vidas) regresa a nuestro distrito escolar en Sequoia High School el 18 de febrero para hablar a los estudiantes y a los padres acerca de cómo navegar la búsqueda de universidades en su presentación "Finding the Right Fit" (Encuentre la universidad a su medida perfecta). Estimados padres y alumnos de los grados 10 y 11
Los estudiantes de Grados 10 y 11 y sus padres están invitados a asistir a La Noche de Información sobre Las Pruebas de Admisión a la Universidad el lunes 8 de Febrero 2016 a las 7 pm en el teatro del PAC. Bruce Reed, un experto en pruebas de admission y de Compass Education Group, presentará información relevante relacionada con el SAT, ACT asi como las Pruebas de Asignaturas. Esta es, sin duda, una excelente oportunidad para conocer más sobre las pruebas de Admisión a la Universidad, sus diferencias, idoneidad de los enfoques y evolución de las políticas de las universidades en el uso del puntaje de dichas pruebas.
Los puntajes del PSAT están ya disponibles en línea en https://studentscores.collegeboard.org. Si creas una cuenta aquí, puedes acceder a tus calificaciones y mucho más. Si por alguna razón no puedes conectarte, intenta actualizar/refrescar la página o inicia y termina la sesión (realiza varios intentos). Si al iniciar la sesión no te es posible ver tus calificaciones, selecciona "Agregar puntajes" y verifica la información personal para acceder a tus resultados. Los Informes en papel con los resultados del PSAT se distribuirán en las clases de inglés durante las próximas semanas.

Oportunidad para el aporte de los padres
MATERIALES DE MATEMÁTICAS COMMON CORE DEL DISTRITO ESCOLAR DE SEQUOIA
El distrito de Sequoia adoptó nuevos materiales de geometría common core el año pasado. Este año, el distrito está revisando opciones para el plan de estudios de Álgebra I y Álgebra II. En dos noches diferentes, el distrito está proporcionando la oportunidad para que los padres puedan ver los materiales de geometría en existencia y proporcionar su aporte sobre las materias de Álgebra I y Álgebra II.
Qué: La oportunidad de revisar el material y proporcionar su aporte
Cuándo: 8 de Febrero o 24 de Febrero, 6:00-7:30 pm (los padres pueden llegar en cualquier momento entre las 6:00 y las 7:30 pm)

¿SABIA USTED QUE. . .?
Se aproxima la semana de la California Scholarship Federation, CSF (Federación de becas de California)

¿Qué es la CSF y cómo puede mi estudiante calificar?
La CSF es un programa que promueve y reconoce a los estudiantes que obtienen calificaciones por encima del promedio académico. Para volverse miembro, el estudiante debe enviar una solicitud cada semestre en que dicho estudiante obtuvo las calificaciones que lo hacen elegible para participar. El estatuto de la CSF especifica un sistema de puntos requeridos para afiliarse. Los miembros 100% o de por vida (portadores del sello) gozan de beneficios que incluyen un reconocimiento especial en la noche de premiación para Seniors de M-A, así como en los programas de graduación de M-A, un sello de la Federación en el diploma junto con un certificado, una borla de la CSF, un lazo con medallón y un broche de la CSF.
Las solicitudes y la lista de los cursos están disponibles la página de M-A CSF. Del lunes 22 al viernes 26 de febrero, los estudiantes deben entregar sus solicitudes en el prado (the green) en frente de la biblioteca durante el almuerzo. Este proceso de solicitud es con referencia a las calificaciones del otoño del 2015. El paquete de solicitud debe incluir:
- Solicitud a la CSF con datos completos.
- Cuota de $5 dólares en efectivo o cheque hecho a nombre de M-A High School
- Una copia o transcripción del reporte de calificaciones del semestre anterior. (Una copia de la transcripción puede ser obtenida en la cuenta de Infinite Campus del estudiante). Entre en la página y seleccione "reports" debajo del nombre del estudiante. NO VAYA A LA OFICINA DE CONSEJERIA PARA OBTENER SU TRANSCRIPCION.
La solicitud requiere un mínimo de 10 puntos provenientes de las calificaciones del otoño del 2015.
A's =3 puntos CSF
B's = 2 puntos CSF
A's de AP o AS = 4 puntos CSF*
B's de AP o AS = 3 puntos CSF*
( *las clases Ap o AS valen un punto extra)

Los choques automovilísticos son la principal causa de muerte en los adolescentes de nuestra nación. La mayor parte de estos accidentes al volante son el resultado de la falta de experiencia o de distracciones y no necesariamente de la búsqueda de emociones extremas o de un deseo de tomar riesgos deliberados. Los conductores adolescentes están en alto riesgo: las tasa de choques (por millas recorridas) ocasionados por conductores de 16 años es cuatro veces la de los ocasionados por adultos. En este taller usted aprenderá asuntos referentes a:
- Estrategias para mantener a sus adolescentes seguros en la carretera.
- Leyes relacionadas con Graduated Drivers Licensing, GDL (licencias para conductores graduados).
- Reglas de la carretera para conductores adolescentes.
- Cómo puede USTED detener al asesino de adolescentes #1 de los Estados Unidos -- conducción distraída e imprudente

Clubes de conversación en Inglés - (todos los miércoles)
Los clubes de conversación en inglés del Proyecto de Lectura ofrecen a las personas que están aprendiendo inglés la oportunidad de practicar las habilidades lingüísticas de escuchar y hablar en un ambiente que les brinda apoyo y seguridad. Los participantes de este evento semanal obtienen una mejor comprensión de las respectivas culturas a la vez que adquieren fluidez lingüística. Los clubes se reunen los miércoles a las 10:15 de la mañana en el salón de conferencias del Gymnasio Arillaga Family localizado en la dirección 600 Alma Street, menlo Prak, y a las 5:00 pm en el salón de reuniones del piso de abajo de la Biblioteca de Menlo Park en el 800 Alma Street.
