Greetings!
New Art In Church Office
100% of Sales Go To All Saints!
Parishioner Ken Jewesson has created expressly for All Saints a new series of uniquely colorful art works that will be on sale in the Parish Office for the next two months. 100% of all proceeds go directly to All Saints. There is no set price for each work; it is Ken's wish that the purchaser donate to the church the amount he/she considers suitable for the painting. So come enjoy Ken's joyful creations, and give in to the irresistible temptation to take one home! Help turn Ken's generosity into a reality for All Saints.

Lenten Study Begins Wednesday Feb 17
Lent is just around the corner! It comes early this year along with Holy Week and Easter. Ash Wednesday falls on February 10 and with it comes the church season when we look within ourselves to understand our spiritual relationship to God and how we might draw closer. Lent is a time when we practice certain disciplines that enable us to fully look forward to and experience the impact of the cross and Easter.

To aid our spiritual journey, All Saints is offering a Lenten Class based on the book by James W. Moore, Give Up Something Bad for Lent. Join us from 7:15 - 8:45 p.m. in the Parish House for five Wednesdays: February 17, 24 and March 2,9, and 16. Fifteen copies of the book have been ordered and will be available at the Book Table (on the patio each Sunday) for $10.00. Contact Rev. Vicki at [email protected]. Click here to read more about this class!

Theology on Tap - February 7, 3-5 p.m.

Live Oak Cafe, Santa Barbara

Theology on Tap, our informal gathering for fellowship and theological discussion, will meet on Sunday, February 7 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. (Theology on Tap will meet on the first Sunday of each month.) The group will meet for Happy Hour at the Live Oake Cafe, 2220 Bath Street, Santa Barbara. Leaders Michael Swift and Scott Danielson will present spiritual topics for consideration and discussion over a glass of wine, bubbly, or brew. Come explore your faith and its relevance today in a relaxed environment - and meet new friends! All are welcome! Please contact Rev. Vicki with questions, [email protected]
Fat Sunday - February 7
Inter-Generational Service & Choir
Sunday February 7, at the 10:00 a.m. service, All Saints-by-the-Sea will celebrate Fat Sunday - a New Orleans Jazz/Gospel style service where we'll transition from the joyful season of Epiphany to the penitential season of Lent, in the spirit of Mardis Gras. The music of the service will be led by a professional New Orleans Jazz band from Los Angeles, and all are welcome to join the choir on that day, to help lead the congregational singing. This will be a Sunday worship event that you will not want to miss!

Inter-Generational Choir Invitation

Children of all ages are invited to participate in the All Saints Choir during the 10:00 a.m. service on February 7. We plan to sing a simple version of the familiar Sunday School song, Jesus Loves Me, arranged as a New Orleans Gospel style spiritual.

It will be simple; no extra rehearsals are necessary. Simply join us at the front of the church at 9:15 a.m. on Feb 7.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner Returns To All Saints!
February 9th at 6:00 p.m.
Pancake Cooks are Needed!
Everyone is invited to celebrate Shrove Tuesday on February 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall with pancakes, sausage, friends and good music! Dinner will be promptly at 6 p.m. and the suggested donation for the pancake dinner is $5 person or $10 per family. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, and was traditionally viewed as a day of repentance. Shrove Tuesday has become the last day for celebration and feasting before a period of fasting and abstinence during the Lenten season. Pancake Cooks are needed for this event!  If you would like to help  please contact Anne Hopkinson ([email protected]). A signup sheet for this event can be found at the Information Table on the patio after Sunday service.
Sanctuary Tour
"Why do I need to take a tour of the sanctuary? I sit in church every Sunday!" If this thought has crossed your mind, well, please think again. More than 120 parishioners have taken a sanctuary tour to receive an update on the plans to preserve our beautiful and history sanctuary and to ready it for the next 100 years of worship. The next opportunity for a sanctuary tour is February 28th after both the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services. If you are interested in a tour, just meet at the Bell Tower after the service.

Did you notice?

The first step in the permit process to take down the Bell Tower and rebuild it is under way! This "notice of development" sign means we are on schedule to begin deconstruction around May 1.

Ash Wednesday is February 10th, marking the beginning of the Lenten season. Imposition of ashes will be offered at noon and 7:00 p.m. in an effort to accommodate varying schedules.
