| "How Firm Our Foundation" Honorary Chair Lady Leslie Ridley-Tree |
Lady Leslie Ridley-Tree is sharing wonderful news with the parish: she is supporting the Sanctuary Preservation and Readiness Project with the lead gift, committing to $3 million over the next five years. "As the campaign's Honorary Chair, I want to convey my full support for this project," Leslie said. The Santa Barbara philanthropist has spent the past few months learning about the extensive needs of the Sanctuary and our historic Bell Tower, including the significant seismic strengthening work required. "I hope my commitment will inspire the generous giving of others in the parish," the long-time All Saints member said. She joins more than 110 members of the parish who have volunteered to help with the capital campaign.
Said Rev. Aime, "I have learned that Leslie seeks to make her life an instrument of God's grace. With a servant's heart, Leslie uses the gifts that God has entrusted to her to make our world a better place. Santa Barbara is a stronger community because of her generosity, as is our church. Thanks to her leadership, we are well positioned to achieve success with our Sanctuary Preservation and Readiness Project. I invite us all to follow Leslie's lead and give as generously as we are able to ensure future generations of ministry at All Saints-by-the-Sea."
The parishwide launch of the capital campaign is set for Jan. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the home of George and Peggy Ittner. Of the $11.6 million needed, campaign leaders, the Vestry and the All Saints staff have already committed $7.4 million. "We are humbled by Leslie's generosity and the commitments of more than 60 parish families who have given us such confidence that we indeed will reach this ambitious goal," noted the campaign co-chairs Ed Birch, Bitsy Bacon and Sheri Benninghoven. "We have a very long ways to go to the finish line, but we are well on our way."
